Meet Chance Valentine | Photographer & Digital Media Consultant

We had the good fortune of connecting with Chance Valentine and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chance, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My biggest passion is storytelling; from writing short stories in school as a child all the way to creating movies for projects in college, I’ve always loved the art of storytelling. Photography is just an extension of that, one image can convey a breadth of emotion, attitude and situation with a glance. Starting my own business was a natural progression from that, I enjoyed photography and working with people and decided to expand.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a portrait and creative photographer in Atlanta, GA. The most exciting part about my work is the ability to tell stories through images; it allows for a different and exciting challenge everyday.
I began photography as a way to connect my writing to the real world. I’ve always been in love with storytelling and when I began to capture images to help move those stories along everything clicked into place for me.
Throughout this journey, I’ve learned many lessons about people, business, and even myself; the most important lesson I’ve learned however, is not to wait for the perfect time to start something; just do it.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite spot in Atlanta is the Beltline- near Inman Park.
Inman Park is great area nestled in the heart of the city that has tapas restaurants, bars, ice cream, and coffee shops with fun scenery and a cosmopolitan vibe. Connected to the area is the Beltline, a walking trail that connects the vibrant, yet different, areas of Atlanta together.
When walking down the Beltline you can always stop and grab food, drinks, trinkets and more. There is Yoga in the Park, a farmer’s market, a skate park, and the path leads you directly into Atlanta’s central park, Piedmont Park.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
When I began shooting in Atlanta, GA; a local actor/influencer, @JetsetDior helped me a ton. More than just giving me pointers for operating the business, he was really with my shooting in the gym. There were long days editing photos or studying technique but, there were also days we were out in the middle of snowstorms trying to get just the right shot.
