We had the good fortune of connecting with Champ Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Champ, what do you attribute your success to?
Definitely keeping God first and trusting the journey he’s put me on.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
So I am an actor but the art of acting is being. I don’t know why but it’s been easy for me to relate to a lot of circumstances my characters are placed in.

How I got to where I am today is simply by remaining positive and consistent. I never stopped. I may have slowed down along my journey but I never stopped. I faced lots of challenges through my hour yet and the way I overcame them was by looking past the situation I was in and looking at the positive outcomes of when I made it out of those situations. The lessons I’ve learned along the way were simply to focus mainly on what I want and need and stop trying to satisfy others. I had to be my best critic and give myself pats on the back.

I want the world to know that God still exist in not only my story but everyone else’s. Through it all he never left my side. Faith is your biggest weapon in hard times.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
It would definitely be Fixins Kitchen in Los Angeles. Owned by retired NBAplayer Kevin Johnson. Definitely my favorite spot to eat at.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Definitely,First I want to give a shout out to my grandmother, the woman who taught me a lot during my journey to becoming a man Isaiah Hayes, a person who took me in as a little brother and taught me the values of being a leader, and Gwen Parker, a woman who I also call mother. If it weren’t for these individuals, I wouldn’t be the man I am today.
