Meet Celli Rivera | Your favorite Mindminx

We had the good fortune of connecting with Celli Rivera and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Celli, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
Like most Americans, I was trying to stay sane during the pandemic so it began as a “time passer” with facetiming my friends and family. We would have such wonderful conversations and had so many laughs that I thought other people affected by the solitary confinement of lock down would also enjoy these conversations and I began airing my conversations LIVE on Instagram. I would ask different people in my life if they would have conversations with me. From my cousin who was a former Sheriff’s officer speaking on her experience in the “boys club”, to a celebrity fashion stylist in NYC, to a local beloved blogger in Bucks County PA. But the one that changed the whole trajectory – I remember asking my friend, Richie Escquiche – a brilliant artist – to join one of my lives, at the time I called it Sofa Social. We spoke about his artwork being chosen for the Flag Project at Rockafeller Center in 2020. His appearance was so well received that one of his actor friends, Vinny Cuevas also wanted to be on a live with me. Vinny loved our interaction so much that he introduced me to the owner of a streaming radio station called Mixvibes Radio. From my original conversation with Mike, who is now my engineer and a trusted friend, The Mindminx Show was born, a weekly live streaming podcast where everyone has a story to tell, so they tell it with me. I have had the pleasure of having actors such as Isaiah Seward and Derrex Brady of the Bounce hit series Johnson, politicians such Jack Ciattarelli, who ran for Governor, comedians such as Duane Burress Jr., musical artists such as Corina and Grammy nominated Frankie Negron and Grammy nominated producer Jimmy Greco as well as emerging local independent artists become friends of the show.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My day to day, pay the bills job, has zero connection to my education or my podcast. But, I do have my MBA in Marketing and at long last I feel I am able to use the creativity I have, along with finally using my degree, in the promotions I create for my guests. These set me apart because I am able to create a buzz leading up to my interview for my guests that is unique and exemplify their personality. The other most notable difference is that I do not lead my show as a question and answer segment. I tell all my guests that we are having a conversation to get to know them and any questions asked will arise organically from that conversation. An hour breezes by with information, laughs, and a genuine connection.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There’s nothing like getting a bagel from North Jersey. There’s just something that hits different about the crusty outside and chewy middle when you bite into a steaming Taylor Ham and egg on a toasted onion bagel. No trip to Jersey is complete without seeing the beautiful Jersey shore while playing a couple of games on the boardwalk. Since we’re down the shore, a couple of bucks in the slot machines won’t hurt at an Atlantic City casino but then we’ll have to make our way back up north to eat at any of the amazing restaurants but my favorites include Franklin Steakhouse in Fairfield, Kuba in Fort Lee and Rustica in Cliffside Park.
