We had the good fortune of connecting with Celine Hawkins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Celine, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Once I lost my job when the COVID pandemic hit, I had to come up with a way to provide for myself. I started modeling and doing things such as Brand Ambassador in for others. And I thought why not model my own clothing and accessories. I have always considered myself a queen and royal because of my favorite color which is purple. I started off with a logo and name “RoyalCee”. I thought about it for a couple of days and I started off selling sunglasses. When I found out that was a great sale, I decided to branch off and add clothing and more accessories to my business. I also modeled and decided to be my own model for the clothing and accessories.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a educator. I graduated from Winston-Salem State December 17, 2021 . I have gotten to where I am today professionally by always promoting my business every day wherever I am. I started my business during college sophomore year, was working lost my job and started working for myself. I am always trying to network, I have gotten to where I am by doing pop-up shops , meeting new people, I have a branch stuff to selling plus size clothing as well as men’s. This journey has not been easy. Tears blood and anger I have all had to overcome with many challenges. Prayer works and having someone that you can talk to interest has help me overcome those challenges. I am always trying new things. I have learned many lessons along the way. I have learned that doing discounts and sales do not always bring the best customers. You will learn who is for you and who is not for you doing retail. If people are questioning your prices they are not for you. If you were always ask for a discount and one purchase from your prices they are not for you. I want the world to know that we are the best in the city of Winston Salem . The Royalcee Collection will touch every state!! We will keep growing and glowing!

You never stopEd believing in me and you told me to always keep pushing when times get hard or business ran slow. Thank you mom for being the best mother a girl could ever ask for. You are a queen, my number one supporter and I appreciate you for all your prayers and all the help you have given me. Thank you to my significant other for helping me daily with deliveries, packaging orders, and more. I know I can be a hassle thank you for never saying no and always supporting me through thick and thin.
