We had the good fortune of connecting with Celandria Sidney and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Celandria, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When I first thought of owning my own business, I began to think how could I pull this off? I wasn’t always popular in school. I had my crew that I talked too but I wasn’t out there like that. I didn’t have friends like that. I really wasn’t a sociable person. I felt like I wouldn’t have much support. What really made me gave it a try…was when I asked (3) people; which included two of my friends and my husband; Latravea Wyche, Shantrice Lindsey, and Gregory Wells. What if I started out selling my banana pudding or strawberry shortcake? They all told me to go forth. After starting my business, my husband told me to sell different flavors because people would get tired of banana pudding and strawberry shortcake. That’s what I did. Every since then I have been successful.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Sweet Tooth Creations, LLC is a women-led and black- owned business that caters to every need. We specialize in birthday parties, baby showers, bachelors/bachelorettes, family functions, corporate events, weddings, and etc. We take pride in our work and we are dedicated to taking care of our clients and our customers . What sets Sweet Tooth Creations, LLC apart from others is that we are continuously giving back to our community doing raffle drawings, free cake giveaways, popup sales, and also hosting our customer’s appreciation dinner to give back to our customers. Our first event was successful that was held August, 2020. We appreciate our clientele and we want them to know it. I am a firm believer… if you take care of your customers…your customers will take care of you. I am so proud of myself because I know I got this out the mud. I started out with $102 invested in my business and then I flipped it. I branded myself. I stayed consistent with advertising, I didn’t get discouraged, and I kept going. Regardless of what anyone has said or done to me, I went forth. I feel like it hits different when you know you got it out the mud. I got where I am because of GOD. He sent me the customers he wanted me to have. A lot of business came from repeating customers, word of mouth, advertising my business on social media, and my website. I started posting on google and really blew up. It wasn’t easy. Life ain’t easy. Anything worth having is worth fighting. Many times I wanted to give up. I had to remind myself that was what my enemies wanted. Instead, I went harder. I stayed focus. I continued to brand my business. The lessons I have learned along the way is that everyone don’t want to see you do great. It’s so many people that are doing the same thing as you and they feel like its a competition. There isn’t no such thing as competition. what is meant for you, its for you! I learned to never give up. I learned to be consistent and to take care of my customers. Whether you get negative feedback or positive, learn from it and keep going. You have to love what you are doing. Don’t do it for money, do it from the heart. When you do that, the money and recognition will later come. Stay humbled and never forget where you came from. The same way you got it, you can loose it in a blink of an eye. I want the world to know Sweet Tooth Creations, LLC is here to stay. Come check out our Strawberry Cheesecake Crunch Cake and many other flavors.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I have always wanted to visit the Suite Food Lounge in Atlanta. I have heard it was a great atmosphere. If you are referring to more of a vacation spot, I have always wanted to go to the Dominican Republic. Seafood would most definitely be on the menu wherever we decide to go!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to first give honor to GOD because without him NONE of this would have been possible. I believe in giving him all the praises because he gets the glory out of this. I want to personally thank my Husband, Gregory Wells. As my business began to grow, he stepped in and helped me out tremendously. Late nights and early mornings, he has been right by my side. He pushes me when the weight bares on my shoulder. He has been like right there by me every step of the way. I also want to thank my customers! Without them there is no Sweet Tooth Creations, LLC. I have met so many great people that has came along. They have been so supporting and caring during this entire Journey.
