We had the good fortune of connecting with Cee El Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cee El, the decisions we make often shape our story in profound ways. What was one of the most difficult decisions you’ve had to make?

Trusting and believing in myself despite those who always express non-belief in my success or just wanting to plant doubts in my vision. It took me literally losing everything, including my mind to just realize this is the only life I will ever get, so it’s time to live it with no regrets.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

People always ask me why did I chose a name like Puss Cee Talks for a podcast. My answer is simple…..I wanted a show that everyday people could relate to…My Brand is for my people that keep a pantry with grocery bags stuffed in other grocery bags! My show is for the person that’s had a rough week and needs a good laugh to know that life gets tf better after they clock out of that 9 to 5. My show is for the hungry, still on the grind, yet know how to have a good time…..My podcast is like being at a barbecue with all your favorite crazy ass cousins…
Professionally, what stands me apart is the fact that my panel is a rotating door of different faces, ages, races, and creeds. My studio is filled with 6 to 8 strangers, strangers to myself and likely each other. Every Thursday Night at 830pm est. though, they have the opportunity to leave feeling like they have known each other for years! My show is a SAFE PLACE FOR YOU TO B.U.! We fellowship, we drink, and ME……..Well……. Imma cuss a whole lotta bit. WHY? Because every conversation deserves a little seasoning from “Dey FINE ASS AUNTIE”. LOL
I’m most proud of my audience growth. I really appreciate those that just show up in the comments just to show love. I genuinely appreciate those who call and text words of encouragement for me to keep pushing forward! Kind words are worth more than gold on my darkest day. It’s not easy writing shows every week or casting my own show every week. Sometimes I vacate the premises, but when I hear I helped someone push through those last few hours at work, or even encouraged someone to just start to create for themselves again it makes it all worth it!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend came to visit me for a week……WHEW CHILE ….IT’S GON BE TROUBLLLLLLE TROUBLLLLLLE IN MY BERNIE MAC VOICE….Now, imma be real, if she come on a non-pay week, we hitting up all the free sh*t first …lol (I’m so serious. She knows my heart. lol) For example, we’re gonna tire these kids out first at a pool or playground, because the kids gotta be sleep if my momma’s gonna babysit them, and we have to leave her drink money …don’t judge me. After we kick out the kiddos, we have to find great cheap food like Tacos. My favorite spot is Party In Ya Mouth, LLC. She always has the best Tacos on Tuesday from Beef to Vegan! Big Shout Out Courtney Sims Rogers….The 3 for 15 always fits in my budget! I’m over 30 now so you know my check engine light is on in a Sista’s knees, so we will hit a hookah bar for drinks, do some people watching and a quick roast session lol. I never take off work when my friends come in town so the weekend we will definitely hit the I-16 to Savannah for great eats, drinks and strange meats lol. But before that we must make a pit stop at my favorite homestyle spot in Ft Valley, Ga to see Mr. Sweet Pea From 3N1 catering. WHEN I TELL YOU HIS DRESSING WILL MAKE YOU DIG UP YOUR FAVORITE AUNTIE WITH THE FATBACK ON HER ARMS…….YES GAWD!!!!! LOL. After that pit stop, to Tybee Island we go!!!! After a pit stop to the package store of course lol…….But a week’s stay, and I will give her a mini tour of Georgia.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

I owe so much to My Fiancé, Tim Pendleton, because he’s my rock. Even on my toughest days I know he has my back. I have always admired him because of his drive and vision. When I met him, he told me he was a self-published author and owned his own company, B.U Project. I was honestly floored after going to his website, and seeing all the books that he wrote and published, because I also shared a great passion of writing, but you know life has its ways of making our hobbies dwindle due to lack of work/life balance. Yet, when I met him he woke my inner writer back up! I remember sneaking reading his books for inspiration (THEY ARE SO GOOD), and one day I was back to creating again. Thank You Tim, although I know I don’t tell you close to enough 😉.
