We had the good fortune of connecting with Cassidy Bass and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cassidy, what role has risk played in your life or career?
If you are afraid to jump, you will never know if you can fly. Taking risks is just that. However, you don’t just jump into thin air. You have to know what’s on the other side or down below. This comes from researching and learning everything you can about the risk you are about to take. I’ve always been a risk taker. I go into every risk with the understanding of hey this may not work out so what is the impact if it doesn’t. If that impact is something that I can survive. I take the risk.

What should our readers know about your business?
I own two successful businesses: Conversation Games and a CRU Lounge Franchise. Conversation Games is a company that my fiancé and I started to create a fun and exciting way for people to connect through meaningful conversation. Under this umbrella, we have several games; The Conversation Party Game: Love & Relationships, The Conversation Party Game: After Dark, and This is NOT a Game. The social gaming space is a very fun and exciting niche. I like to take credit for being one of the first to develop these types of games for this space. When we started, there were not very many doing what we do. I am now starting to see more companies try to enter the space with a focus on relationships. However, what makes us different, is that we are not locked into just one topic or customer base. Our games are diverse and appeal to a wide variety of customers. We also engage our customers by hosting live events where they can come out, meet the creators, and play the games.

CRU Lounge is a very exciting business that just fell into my lap. I was introduced to the brand in the very early stages of franchising. I’ve always had a desire to own a piece of the nightlife industry. In the early 2000s I started a company that offered an app for nightlife discounts. Here it is several years later and I own one of the hottest and fastest growing franchises in the world.

My journey hasn’t been easy. It has been a series of great ideas and failed businesses. However, the one thing that I can contribute to my success is persistence. I never gave up. Entrepreneurship is apart of who I am. It’s a passion. I love the challenge it brings. I have learned a lot and am still learning. The biggest thing I have learned is that success is about how much money you bring in, its about what you do with it. Chase your passion and then learn how to monetize it.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
CRU Lounge is my #1 must do and see for obvious reasons 🙂 – Specifically, CRU Edgewood. Slutty Vegan is also a must try. I would also stop by H&F for the most delicious burger in town. I am a big fan of outdoor patios and spaces, so we would for sure visit the rooftop at Ponce City Market for some carnival games, great food and drinks. As you can tell I also love to eat so our next visit would be Café Bourbon St. (Food Truck). BURN by Rocky Patel is another fav as they have a great vibe for cigar lovers but do a great job of also including non smokers with great drinks, food, and atmosphere. Its located at The Battery, which is where the new Atlanta Braves stadium is located. The Battery would be my next stop. It has tons of great restaurants, bars, shopping and outdoor vibes. I don’t get out much but when I do these are my favorite places to visit.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shout out to GOD and my support system. It’s not easy being the owner of multiple businesses and still taking care of home. There are so many nights where I come home from a long day to cook dinner, play with the kids, help with homework, and kiss them goodnight before heading back out to CRU or grabbing my laptop for some late night reporting, planning, and follow ups. It takes a whole lot of patience and faith to be with a serial entrepreneur. My family and fiancé (Attorney K. Dominic Jones) are the foundation of my success. They are the real MVPs!
