Meet Cassandra Grayes | Founder of Journey Solo

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cassandra Grayes and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cassandra, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
The most important lesson behind my solo travel business is to not allow fear to hold me back. “God did not give us the spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.” By removing fear from my life as much as possible, I have been able to travel to 13 countries and counting around the world.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am the founder of Journey Solo, which is a female solo travel business thats dedicated to empowering women to travel the world solo with confidence and independence. I am a huge advocate for women exploring the world on their own to learn about themselves, new cultures, and experiences. Through my platform, I have thoughtfully curated trip packages that includes accommodations, experiences, and round trip ground transportation for an easy experience. I also provide resources, tips, and support as women navigate new horizons with flexible payment options.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Ooo great question. Well first, I would take my friend to Bellwood Coffee in Atlanta. The coffee shop is so unique, friendly staff and just a vibe! Next, we would hit Lullwater Preserve in Decatur, Ga because I looovvee the great outdoors. Being in nature is so healing, refreshing and just overall good for your health. We would take a short walk in the park, have a pretty cool picnic and ground. Once we finish, we have to treat ourselves to some amazing food. We would trek over to Delbar in Inman park, which is a Middle Eastern restaurant. The food is oh so good. To end our day, we would venture off to Intermezzo cafe. Intermezzo cafe has several locations throughout the city. The cafe is swanky and such a nice relaxing vibe with a plethora of different teas, coffee and desserts to choose from.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
God is first and foremost the most important person that I want to thank for my success as well as the things I “thought” I wanted that didn’t come to fruition. If it wasn’t for the redirection, I wouldn’t be here today. Secondly, I would love to thank my daughter (Camryn who’s 11), my family and my friends. They have kept me encouraged day in and day out when I wanted to give up. The countless shoulders to lean on when I’ve doubted myself, when I’ve felt overwhelmed, and just being a human being who’s trying to create freedom – Thank you!!!
