We had the good fortune of connecting with Caroline Simas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Caroline, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind the success of my brand Multiple Blessings is my perspective of success. I believe it’s more about impact and less about income. If I am using my God-given talents wisely, having fun doing what I love and feel passionate about, and know my art is making a positive impact on people and the world, then yes I feel extremely successful and grateful.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Most days you can find me joyfully covered in paint inside my colorful studio located in historic South End at Dilworth Artisan Station (home to 30+ creatives) in Charlotte, N.C. I license my art to the gift and home decor industry which basically means that companies use my art for their products such as calendars, garden products, stationery, ceramics, and a wide variety of gift items. It is still a thrill after all these years to see my art on products in stores such as Michael’s, Hobby Lobby, JoAnns, Cracker Barrel and a host of mom&pop stores around the globe. I feel incredibly fortunate to do what I love every day! I offer 1:1 creative coaching sessions, host private group workshops in my studio & lead traveling art retreats. I also teach virtual and in person art workshops through womenfaithstory.com. Over the years, I have painted over 100 indoor murals + a few outdoor! I knew from a very early age that I wanted to grow up and be three things: a mother, a teacher, and an artist. I feel so fortunate to have been all three. It’s been a long and winding creative journey from first grade teacher, to art instructor, to custom murals and hand-painted children’s furniture + baby linens…to greeting card manufacturer and then finally to licensed artist. The full story: multipleblessings.com – About. Lots of lessons and mistakes along the way, but each made me learn and grow and become a better artist/business owner/person. Hindsight is a beautiful thing. Truly thankful to be a licensed artist, workshop teacher, retreat leader, mural painter, and creative business coach. Lots of hats to juggle but grateful for it all!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
FUN question! I would definitely take my friend to Dilworth Artisan Station to see our incredible space filled with beautiful art studios and she could meet all of my talented artist friends. The building is 110 years old, with beautiful exposed brick, gorgeous but creaky pine floors and a fright elevator which used to help lift cars for soldiers and store them during World War II. It also used to be a manufacturing plant for bras and panties, which my kids think is hysterical. We’d then walk outside up and down the light rail trail enjoying the fun vibe of South End, Charlotte, the views of uptown and take a selfie by my Windows of Hope mural. We would pop in to my favorite coffee shop and restaurants thoughout the day: Central Coffee for the best oat milk latte, Flower Child for the best lunch, and then uptown to Merchant & Trade for drinks and apps and the best rooftop bar with a killer view of the city! We’d also visit the Mint Museum and Bank of America Stadium. So many fun things to see and do in our beautiful queen city!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Grateful to my agents for continuing to work on behalf of Multiple Blessings to get my art licensed and onto products and into stores. Thankful to our manufacturing partners for believing in my art and messages and for making it all come together on beautiful products. Thank you to the retailers for choosing to carry the products in your beautiful stores and to the customers who choose to purchase them. And a HUGE thank you to my family for being supporting cheerleaders along the way and for Leslie who is my angel assistant/graphic designer helping selflessly behind the scenes to format much of what I paint and keeps me laughing every day. Blessed by each of these mentioned, for their guidance, friendship and support! It allows me to do what I love, but more importantly what I feel called to create and share with the world.
