We had the good fortune of connecting with Caroline Edge and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Caroline, how does your business help the community?
When I created my freelance business, Caroline Edge Studios, I initially did it to make some extra side cash, but as I’ve grown and embarked on more meaningful projects, it’s had a much greater impact than I initially thought.
My goal in life is to leave this planet better than I found it, may that be through inspiring change, teaching sustainable practices through visual designs, or simply by making someone smile on my way to work, I want this world to be a place where future generations thrive.
My business creates sustainable content through writing and visual designs and strives to help others become their best selves. By developing uplifting content, I hope to empower women, men, and anyone in between.
I also travel intentionally, helping communities around the world. Whether in my backyard or across the ocean, I want to help pave a path to a more sustainable future.
I create books, murals, and promotional content, teach art classes, partake in community farming, sustainability talks, and any other tasks where I can connect and help individuals who are struggling or those who are living their life to the fullest.
Caroline Edge Studios is my business, but also a part of myself. In the wise words of P.T Barnum, “the greatest art is that of making others happy,” and that is what my business and I do to help communities near and far.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My creations are meant to be uplifting. I find that so much of our society is based on fear, hate, and likes. What sets me apart from others is that I create empowering, positive pieces that inspire change for good.
One of my works I am proud of is the rebranding of Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu to encourage more women to join. Jiu-Jitsu is such a male-dominated sport; by redesigning the Gi’s, creating promotional content, and self-defense accessories that are not fuchsia pink, I hope that more women will join in fighting for themselves.
I know it sounds cliche, but through the support of my family and friends, I am here today, professionally and personally.
I’ve overcome life’s challenges to get where I am today because I never gave up when I was at the bottom of the barrel. When I didn’t want to take another step, I did. Nothing about life is easy, but it’s the people around you that make it worth living.
My mom always told me, “you don’t know how strong you can be until it’s your only option.” This statement has proven true on more than one occasion and has made me a resilient person in every aspect of my life.
I want the world to know that I am striving for a sustainable future where humanity can live as nature intended. Through my creations, I will make an impact that fosters positive change.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Having not spent much time in Atlanta, we would probably spend the day in the botanical gardens with a picnic. I’m an outdoorsy gal, so any activity with walking, food, and sunshine sounds like paradise to me. We would walk around Coca-cola park and try all the ethnic food as well.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I shout out my brother Nicholas Edge. He has been with me through all of the ups and downs and has inspired me to keep going after my dreams and become the person I want to be. He is an upcoming communications designer at Elon University.
