We had the good fortune of connecting with Carleigh Clark and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Carleigh, how does your business help the community?
As a stylist and costume designer, I view fashion as a powerful form of storytelling—an unspoken language that conveys identity, values, and even status at a glance. My background in costume design has allowed me to create entire worlds through fabric, shaping characters from indie sets to real life. From crafting garments for the stage to precision work as a seamstress, I’ve seen firsthand how clothing can transform how someone feels, moves, and connects. Fashion is woven into every aspect of life, shaping confidence, community, and culture. It’s not just what we wear—it’s who we are, and what we want the world to see.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As a costume designer, I have the privilege of shaping entire worlds through my art. Every detail I choose is deliberate, weaving a silent story that speaks volumes. Dressing someone is never just about clothes, it’s about crafting an experience, a narrative you can feel without needing to say a word. My work communicates with the world in a language beyond words. What sets me apart is the singularity of my vision. No one else can see or create what I do because every piece is an extension of my unique perspective and creative process.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First, we have to start the day with brunch at Toast in Buckhead—it’s hands down the best in the city. Once we’re stuffed, we’ll walk it off with a hike at Kennesaw Mountain, a peaceful escape with some of the best views around. Afterward, we can dive into one of my favorite hidden gems, The Goat Farm Arts Center, a unique arts space that never fails to inspire. Right nearby, you’ll find Tropical Expressions, a plant shop filled with the most vibrant houseplants in Atlanta—perfect for sprucing up any space.
For lunch, we’re heading to Cheba Hut, a sub shop with 420-inspired vibes and unforgettable sandwiches. After recharging, we can explore The High Museum of Art. Their Friday night events are a must—full of great music, stunning art, and some of the best-dressed people in the city. Speaking of style, Atlanta’s fashion scene is on point, and thrifting at Rag-O-Rama in Little Five Points is always a win for finding unique pieces.
You can’t come to Atlanta without experiencing Cascade, especially during a skateathon. It’s pure magic—a blend of culture, freedom, and rhythm with people from all over the nation packing the rink to celebrate skating and Atlanta’s rich history. The energy is unmatched.
For dinner, Atlanta boasts some of the best spots in the South. I highly recommend Church in Buckhead or Bon Ton—both have jaw-dropping décor and food that’s as Instagram-worthy as it is delicious. When the night really kicks off, we’re headed to MJQ, the iconic underground club. Sky will be at the door, the music will be on point, and the vibe is unbeatable.
To wrap up the night, we’ve got two late-night spots that never fail: Mama’s Cocina and R. Thomas Deluxe Grill, both open until the early hours of the morning. Perfect for satisfying those midnight munchies and reflecting on an epic day in Atlanta.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I owe everything I’ve achieved to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who has not only guided my journey but blessed me with incredible friendships and connections along the way in this vast industry. His hand has been in every success, and through Him, I’ve found purpose, direction, and a network of truly amazing people.
