We had the good fortune of connecting with Carla Figáro and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Carla, what matters most to you?
Integrity,; it is a value I stand with 100% and is the main reason why I am so adamant about not mainstreaming my product line. I do my best to present myself and my products in the most authentic way possible.

Meaning what you see, is what you get. What I say I’m providing is what you get.
Being this way means you don’t have to continually fact check someone or something because they or it is proven to be genuine.
Even if it may not gel with what I expect, I’ll take the real deal over a synthesized substitution or false representation any day.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am proudly the creator of Dragonfly Esscentuals; a luxury line of completely plant based skin, bath and body care products. I also own the Figáro effect a wellness lifestyle brand which offers coaching, wholelistic cooking, aromatherapy and products geared toward personal wellness and ife balance and enhancement.
Both businesses are based on a premise of wellness, selfcare and self love which, is something many speak about but don’t truly understand the premise or execution of.
We provide products, services and education that both support and advocate making self a priority.

Opporating a business is a daily learning process and takes tenacity. I spend alot of time educating myself, researching and networking to push and enhance the growth of the business.

The saying that nothing worth having comes easy is so true but the climb is worth every struggle.
I’ve learned that you have to dig in your heels and do the work. You may want everything on a silver spoon but that spoon comes with trials and tribulations too.
Dragonfly Esscentuals and the Figáro effect are here to help, encourage and enhance living your best life.
We may never see tomorrow but while you have today, why not give and get the best you possibly can.
The bottom line is Dragonfly Esscentuals and the Figáro effect are representations of caring about living life at your best.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I really have not been able to spend much time visitting local eateries and such since I’ve been here but the atmosphere and offerings at Art Thomas Grille in Atlanta is a definate must and walks or hikes at some of the parks especially the ones with waterfalls will take place. There is a trail in Stone Mountain that leads to a bamboo forest that I have plans to traverse. Bonefish Grill also in Atlanta has a roasted pineapple martini that lives in my dreams and Cenacle Coffee & Bistro in Austell. It’s a quaint little spot that offers plant based options and the staff is great.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Moving and transitioning is never easy. I moved from California to Georgia during the height of the pandemic. Since arriving to Georgia I have had an amazing team of supporters.
My Sister Desiree Faltine welcomed me into her home which made it easier for me to make moves in a place that I really didn’t know much about.
My biggest supporter since my arrival in the ATL has been Ginger Fortune of Ginger Beauty Luxe and yes, that is her real name.
She makes amazing vegan cosmetics and is a creative powerhouse.
Before I even arrived, Ginger started making moves to help me make connections.
She connected me with Zinah Artistic Retail which, is the first and thus far only physical location to have carried my products.
She also introduced me to Brian Hebert the Executive Director of Arts Clayton Gallery in Jonesboro who has been a major supporter of my creative endeavors and my other business the Figáro effect.
Brian introduced me to Tammary Scott the owner of B’Mari Events and Art Sudio who has also been a staunch supporter of the Figáro effect.
Yolanda Lampley who is the worlds best assistant and is there to have my back and promote my businesses every chance she gets.
April Lambi of Shweet Baby Treats who recommended me to Voyage ATL
The one person who I can not forget and can NEVER have enough words to thank is my Aunt Madeline Whittington. I could try to sell packets of air and dirt and she would be there to encourage me and let me know I can do it. 🤣 She would be firts in line to order a pack.
There are so many that I can mention and to those I haven’t, you are not forgotten and I thank you fron the bottom of my heart. I pray that you rock with me til the wheels fall off.
