We had the good fortune of connecting with Captain Pimp’n and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Captain, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Well, Crunk Lit Fresh was actually a hook when I use to rap back in 2009, with a group, called (Dem Crucial Boyz) fast forward, the group broke up, and I had this hook still that was never used from being in the group. Well, 1 day I was sitting at home, I’m thinking about the next move and plans and it just came to me To do a podcast after listening to Wallo276 from Million Dollaz Worth of Game. So I said, and thought about what would I call my podcast? And the hook came up again, and that’s when I was like, crunk is my genre/era in the club. Now they call it Lit in this day and age and Fresh was about your style.
And that’s how I started my podcast.
I’m going to bring, Crunk Lit fresh people on my podcast/show.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets Crunk Lit Fresh podcast,/show apart from any others is I provide a welcoming, enjoyable learning comfortable environment.
It’s not so much as an interview. It’s more like a long, distant friend catching up with each other to see how they’re doing in their life. While educating the people
That Watch and listen to the podcast on YouTube or on Spotify and other outlets.

I’m most proud about the growth from having a small sign working with very little equipment coming into podcasting not knowing correct lighting, set ups, formats, and the actual equipment to buy, to now understanding more than I did. It is a big change from my first youtube video to now.

How did I get here professionally?
Is by applying myself. I feel like you can’t go anywhere without applying yourself and trying new things.
Not having self doubts and negativity in your mind. Set a your mind to it, just really going for it. And also having a few people that is going to push you and
You pushing yourself because no one can want it more than you. Especially if it’s your idea and thoughts.

It was not easy just to sit down and doing a podcast for me because I’m new to what is a podcast. And after watching?
Other podcasters do it, it gave me some sense of courage me and motivation.
You are going to have some trials and tribulations. It all depends on If you’re going to have guests or if you’re not going to have guest, is it just gonna be you hosting and being the owner or are you going to have a co-host, who you can bounce information off of?
Also?
It can be easy if you just want to have you and a camera phone.
But for me, I want a bigger Platform with guest, you have to figure out what type of equipment to purchase. If you don’t have any money, it’s going to be hard to do.
That’s being on a bigger scale, learning how to edit your shows, learning how to go on these platforms and post and promote your shows. It can be frustrating and tiring coming up with new ideas. Booking or hosting guest
can be challenging, especially if y’all don’t have the same schedule.
Coming up with different topics me myself. I am a perfectionist, so I struggle with being consistent with my episodes. Because I want everything to be right on point. So it can and do be challenging. I pushed through it by giving myself positive affirmation and my team that I have assembled together that I run off ideas to in our group messages and pray.

The lessons I’ve learned along the way, is it starts with you. You have to be the one to put it in your mind and apply it to see the growth. No one is going to help you that much,at the beginning. They’re not in your mind. Visualize it and attack it, don’t get too discouraged when you’re family or friends doesn’t support you the way you would like them too. You will have to do a lot of research a lot of building
A lot of self promoting, self encouraging things for yourself. If you build it, they will come after a while.
The low numbers you see on social media or YouTube. We’ll probably get you discouraged, as you keep going, and keep promoting and keep advertising your brand someone’s going to notice it. And before you know it, your number is going to start going up. On social media and on YouTube
and any other outlets for promoting on.
