We had the good fortune of connecting with Cane Carter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cane, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
What makes me happy is helping people, especially artist in entertainment. Music has been my passion since I was 8 yrs old and I’ve always known that once I reached the avenues God wanted me to as an artist that I would end up being in a position to help others achieve the success they wanted through my experience and love of the art.

What should our readers know about your business?
Threat Muzik Ent. & Management LLC (TME) is an Independent Entertainment & Management Company whose focus is on developing new independent artist and entertainers and providing management and non-management services to those who need assistance in launching their careers, or those who just need an extra push. We also have expertise in and offer a number of services including but not limited to; marketing & promotion, booking, song writing, artist consultations, recording, mixing, mastering & more. We take pride in providing top quality services for our clients in order to maximize their earning potential in the entertainment industry. What sets me apart from others is that I mostly like to help build entertainers from the ground up, with artist development, and/or the basic necessities of starting a business in the music industry such as forming a legitimate company (llc, corporations, partnerships ect…) helping with trademarks, copyrights, publishing, music registrations and more. Although I work with established artist as well, working with new artist, artist who are looked over and artist who think it’s impossible to have success in music (you can say I like to make non-believers into believers lol) is what sets my company apart from others as well as my pure passion for what I do. A lot of people and companies in my fields do it solely for financial gain and praise/recognition from their peers or just simply because they’re good at it. If any of those reasons were solely why I decided to dedicate my life to this line of work, I would’ve gave up a long time ago lol, and probably would’ve just retired from music all together after I decided not to be a recording artist anymore. Especially if it was mostly for financial gain, because everything I do today as a business, I did for free for years before I ever made a dime from it.
This is one of the reasons I’m mostly proud of the progress that has been made on behalf of my artists/clients through myself and my company, if it weren’t for the artist/clients who believe in me and my work, I wouldn’t have the experience and expertise I have in certain fields. I wouldn’t be where I am today.
This definitely hasn’t been a easy journey, life, or business to endure , especially being female (dominant female) in a mostly male dominated industry, but it is all worth it because of the vision and where we’re headed.
Through prayer, meditation, education, discernment, will power, dedication, hard work, consistency, taking risks and having overall strength is how I overcome any challenges I face or are thrown at me, and I face a lot of challenges and obstacles because I’m a strong minded individual who refuses to be disrespected, pushed over, manipulated, spoken on negatively or used.
Along the way through my journey, a few lessons I’ve learned are; if you want to be successful in this business or any business and accomplish anything, you can not “wear your feelings on your sleeve”, you have to be strong and stand for something. This particular business is not for the weak. I’ve also learned the value of work ethic and the importance of building relationships, but not only building/starting the relationship, but maintaining it. That’s the hard part for most people.
When people or potential artist/clients hear about TME, I want them to know that we’re a solid, hard working, dedicated and loyal organization who does great business and always go the extra miles to get the job done. Anyone authentic who has an experience with me or my company always feel like family because that’s one of the core principles we were founded on, Family and to also understand and respect my sometimes stern and stringent business policies.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The first place I would recommend in Birmingham is the Underground Vegan, it’s a new vegan Restaurant in the Southside area of Birmingham that uses 100% plants to create handcrafted food fresh to order. It’s amazing because a lot of people who patronize don’t consider themselves “vegan” (or didn’t before they tried it lol) but simply just love the food. If you didn’t know the food was plant based, You wouldn’t be able to tell by taste, The food is amazing and the staff are very professional and friendly. The next spot I would recommend is Topgolf it’s an inclusive, high-tech golf game aimed at golfers of all skill levels it’s a fun experience to have with friends and family and the food and drinks are awesome. Last but not least I would take someone visiting the city downtown to enjoy the VEOride experience, it’s micro-mobility as a true transportation system to reduce automotive use and promote widespread utilization of shared alternative mobility.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shout-out first and foremost my Creator for creating & instilling in me the love & passion I have for my work even until this day, as well as for the gift/talent itself. My family, for always believing in me and my dreams and encouraging the thought since the first day I announced that music is what I wanted to do with my life as a child. (My Parents, My sister, My aunts/uncles, My cousins, My best friend, family friends ect…) My life partner, Ashaley J for never allowing me to think a negative thought about my purpose on this earth, giving up on my purpose or even changing route. Any mentors or teachers who has ever gave me advice or took the time to teach me or show me the things I wanted and needed to know about this business. Last but definitely not least, each and every artist/colleague, producer and entertainer who believed enough in me to allow me to help them in any shape, form or fashion with their career in music/entertainment. Whether it was being featured as an artist, a songwriter on the project, producing or co-producing the music or song, engineering, mixing or mastering the session, mentoring, advising, counseling, managing or consulting the business part of it all. All of these people are a part of my story and deserve not only recognition but my eternal gratitude.
