We had the good fortune of connecting with Candice Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Candice, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I think risk taking is essential for growth and success. When you take risks you give yourself the opportunity to step out of your comfort zone by challenging yourself to accomplish things that aren’t easy to achieve. Taking risks have played a huge part in my career as an esthetician from the very start. After I graduated from esthetics school I took the risk of opening my own day spa, even after being told by several people that I should go work for someone else in the industry in order to gain more knowledge and clientele before going into business for myself! I wasn’t feeling that, because I knew exactly what I wanted to do and how I wanted to do it so 3 months after graduating I opened my very own business, Prestige Aesthetics LLC.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Prestige Aesthetics & Body sculpting is a black woman owned business, specializing in Corrective skincare and Body sculpting. What sets Prestige Aesthetics apart from other businesses in this industry is that I care more about the quality of service provided to my clients than the quantity of clients entering my treatment room! I know that when my clients leave my treatment room they will be happy and satisfied with the experience and will appreciate the small, intimate environment provided to them. I find tremendous joy in seeing my clients happy and excited with their results after a treatment at Prestige Aesthetics. Prestige Aesthetics is in our 3rd year of business as of February 2022, and getting here has taken a lot of sacrifice and even more tenacity. Starting out I experienced a lot of ups and downs. One week I would be booked out with clients and the next week only one client for the entire week, and I dealt with that off and on my first year in business, but the grind in me wouldn’t allow me to give up. Fast forward the next year, that’s when Covid hit and my business was forced to shut down for about 6 1/2 weeks, (imagine the devastation that caused to a new business) yet I still didn’t give up and when I was able to reopen I started bringing in more clients than I did the year prior simply by word of mouth and the help of Groupon. Dealing with that taught me to never get complacent and definitely never ever give up on your vision, and to execute the mission it until it’s complete. I want the world to know that I’m passionate about my work and I find joy in helping others achieve their skin and body goals. I won’t stop building my brand until Prestige Aesthetics is known on every beauty platform in the United States.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I hang out and eat out a lot in Atlanta, but if my bestie came to visit for a week the places I would take her would be;

Pasha for the vibe and atmosphere Spondivits and Pappadeaux for the delicious seafood, Poor Calvin’s for the lobster fried rice and craft cocktails, Fins & Feathers for the vibe, Thumbs Up, Toast on Lenox, Breakfast At Barney’s or Atlanta Breakfast club for a good breakfast or brunch. We would go to a Hawks game and visit the civil rights museum to learn more about our history, the Sun Dial for the view of the city and a cocktail. We’d go Six Flags to let our hair down and have some fun, we would go to Cosmopolitan Premier lounge on Saturday night to party and kick it. We would attend Wings of Faith ministries on Sunday morning to praise and worship

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I wouldn’t be where I am today without the love and support of my family and friends who have been my constant cheer squad and motivators, always expressing how proud of me they are. Special shout out to my other half, for always having my back, encouraging me and building me up, especially whenever I start doubting myself, he has a way of finding good in any bad situation! When I said I wanted to go to school to become an esthetician he didn’t hesitate to pay my tuition in full and for that I’m forever grateful.
