We had the good fortune of connecting with Candice Sands and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Candice, what role has risk played in your life or career?
As an entrepreneur, risk taking to me is simply taking a leap of faith hoping that whatever you invest in is lucrative. Risk taking played a major factor with my business because not only did it have positive and negative aspects , the negative times enabled and encouraged me to be innovative. I am considered one of the top boutique seller’s in the Bahamas and I’m still trying to obtain and manage that title . I took a risk in 2020 and decided to leave my hometown because I was ready to start turning things up a notch. I expanded my inventory to cater to a bigger audience! I went into this business with the mindset that this is a gamble and to never give up if tough times ever occurred. I am so grateful and amazed to know that I’m still successful in an over saturated market. My business has taught me to be more humble , resilient and respectful to everyone. You just never know who’s who and who’s watching you and where your name can end up! Needless to say, I just felt that I outgrew my hometown and was ready to experience new people and things. It wasn’t hard for me because I had no baggage ,no kids ,no loans, no anything just me, my ideas ,and my Hustling spirit! Anything I saw I could’ve profit from I started selling,! The Jewelry, ladies clothing ,heels and down to games you name it!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is called Blitz’N’Glitz. Mainly because I started off selling jewelry! They were statement pieces and glitter pieces so I felt the name at the time was suitable and catchy. I never changed the name when I branched off into clothing because that name just got stuck with me and everyone! I was set apart from others because I came out the gate DIFFERENTLY! I tried to sell different styles that I rarely seen on my social feed .Also, I did giveaways, and I was basically going the extra mile for my customers .My humbleness , style and beauty gravitated people towards me even more . The most proudest moment that would always have me in tears is knowing when I purchase my new shipment and the minute my new arrivals are posted they would be sold out so fast. Sometimes less than a day sometimes less than an hour, BUT GOD!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite spot in Atlanta so far is anything Food! I’m a foodie. The very first thing we would do is try new restaurants! Little alley steak, Pricci, Stk and the capital grille are nice restaurants I’ve tried before that I don’t mind taking people to experience their food again. The party experience alone in Atlanta is just different and LIT

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My Mom and sisters are the ones behind my success! Without them continuously pushing me every time I would’ve gave up already . I appreciate them so much!
