We had the good fortune of connecting with Candace Allen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Candace, what do you attribute your success to?
Three focal points of the business model is Community, Quality, and Affordability. A wide range of women are patrons of ours, from race, age, and social economic backgrounds. I think we all learn from each other on an everyday basis. We have such a large range of services and goods available, we never know who might come through the doors. All the service providers are all-star professionals and I believe we all try to be reasonable in our price points, without sacrificing quality. We also offer refreshments and a great music playlist!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
iCandy and Company is a Beauty Bar and Boutique. With five service providers we offer a plethora of services including Lash Extensions, Microblading, Microshading, Cavitation, Post Surgery Massage, Facials, Full Body Waxing, Braids, Teeth Whitening, Fibroblast, Training, among other services. All service providers are their own entities under one roof, but we try to function as a family and refer business to one another. Like an integrated salon suite and store. In house we sale Lashes, Lash Supplies, Clothing, Wigs, Waist Trainers, Weightloss Solutions which we are rebranding this September. Seven years ago I transitioned into the beauty business from luxury retail as it was hard for me to get a job even though I had my bachelors in Fashion Merchandising and seven years luxury retail. I was an avid lash client and seeing how profitable it was for my lash artist, I steered my career into beauty and now iCandy and Company has morphed into what it is now. The goal is to become a one stop powerhouse for fashion and beauty.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This is an easy one as I’m entertaining out of town friends all the time! My favorite restaurants to take guests are Pasha, Divans, Busy Bees, and Joey Ds. Things to do would be the Georgia Aquarium, Top Golf, The Botanical Garden, and Battle and Brew. Favorite clubs would be Victory, Onyx, Magic City and Strokers.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to shout out my mom and my daughter. My mom past a few years ago, but since an early age she as incorporated everyday luxury into my life which shaped who I am today. Also my daughter, which I have shown her the same, but also pushing for higher highs to show her anything she puts her mind to is possible when you put in the work and don’t give up.
