Meet Can Daplan

We had the good fortune of connecting with Can Daplan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Can, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting my own business was driven by a combination of passion, experience, and vision. Coming from a background in interior door manufacturing and frame production, I saw a clear opportunity to offer something unique to the market — products that combine durability, design, and functionality.
After years of building strong relationships and a reputable brand in Turkey, I realized that the U.S. market had a growing demand for high-quality, ready-to-install interior doors — especially ones that are stylish, affordable, and built to last. That’s how DapdoorUSA was born.
It wasn’t just about expanding internationally — it was about bringing a new standard to the American interior door market. I wanted to build something long-lasting, with deep roots in quality craftsmanship and global ambition.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
DapdoorUSA is more than just a door brand — it’s the result of years of experience, innovation, and an unwavering belief in quality. Our journey began in Turkey, where we built one of the country’s largest manufacturing operations for composite door frames and trims. Over time, we realized that the same commitment to durability, hygiene, and aesthetic value could meet a growing demand in the United States.
What sets us apart is our full-package approach: we don’t just sell doors — we offer a complete solution. Our doors are impact-resistant, antibacterial, water-resistant, and ready-to-install. These features, along with our fast delivery capabilities thanks to our U.S.-based warehouse, truly differentiate us from traditional suppliers.
Getting to this point wasn’t easy. Expanding into the U.S. involved countless logistical, regulatory, and branding challenges. But every challenge was a lesson — we learned to adapt, to listen to the American contractor’s needs, and to build relationships based on trust and consistency.
Today, I’m most proud of how quickly DapdoorUSA gained traction — not just as a product, but as a reliable partner for builders and developers.
What I want the world to know is this: behind every door we deliver is a story of resilience, craftsmanship, and a global vision brought to life.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting Atlanta for a week, I’d make sure they experienced the full spectrum — from culture to cuisine to nature.
We’d start with Ponce City Market — grab coffee, explore the rooftop, and walk along the BeltLine. For dinner, I’d take them to South City Kitchen for some elevated Southern food, or Busy Bee Café if they’re ready for the real local soul food experience.
One afternoon would be spent in Piedmont Park, maybe with a picnic if the weather’s right, followed by a stroll through the Atlanta Botanical Garden. Of course, we’d check out The High Museum of Art and maybe catch a show at the Fox Theatre.
I’d also take them to Krog Street Market, and for something a bit off the beaten path, we’d visit East Atlanta Village for local art and music. Sunday brunch? Definitely at Buttermilk Kitchen.
And because I’m passionate about design and construction, I’d make a stop at a few residential neighborhoods to show them some beautiful American home styles — the kind of homes where a Dapdoor fits just right.
Atlanta has this great energy — a blend of innovation, tradition, and community. It’s one of those places that surprises you in the best ways.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Absolutely — no journey like this happens alone. First and foremost, I owe a huge part of my success to my family, especially my wife, whose support, patience, and belief in me have been unwavering through every challenge.
I also want to shout out to our incredible production team in Turkey. Their craftsmanship, attention to detail, and dedication are the backbone of everything we do. Without their hard work, bringing Dapdoor to the U.S. wouldn’t have been possible.
Lastly, I’m grateful to the mentors and business partners who believed in this vision early on, and to the builders and contractors here in the U.S. who gave us a chance to prove ourselves. This is a collective journey, and I’m proud to be walking it with such great people.
