We had the good fortune of connecting with Campbell Harrison and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I feel like my trajectory is pretty similar to a lot of other are singer-songwriters and I’m not unique in that regard. In Nashville there are a thousand people just like me who do their best to make genuine and unapologetic art and are always negotiating the best way to do that. It’s not easy and anyone who’s honest will admit that you doubt yourself at times. There’s always the question of “is this what I want?”. or “does anyone care about what I’m making?”. At the end of the day you’ve got to love what you’re doing and find fulfillment in it, independent of recognition, accolades or financial compensation. That’s what making art is.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Honestly, there’s so much stuff to do in Nashville that it’s hard to pick a starting point. If you want the Vegas kind of experience then go downtown. If you want a greasy sandwich in a killer dive bar then go to East Nashville. If shopping is your thing then you’ve got a dozen different districts for that too. Personally I’m a dive bar kid and so that’s where you’ll find me – most likely with a whiskey in hand.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My friends and my family are my cornerstone and they’ve supported me since the beginning. There’s no way I’ll be able to pay them all back for sticking with me all this time. I remember all the nights they spent with me in smelly dive bars when I was 22 years old and I remember how many crappy CD’s they’ve all purchased. It really does take a village to support you and they certainly have.
