We had the good fortune of connecting with Camillia Harris and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Camillia, what do you attribute your success to?
The drive to help others is, I believe, the most crucial element underpinning my success. My brand’s success can be attributed to the personal narrative that fuels my advocacy work, a journey I never envisioned for myself or my family. By following divine order and staying true to my beliefs, I have achieved what I consider to be my internal success.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I take great pride and excitement in my determination to believe in my purpose. My journey to where I am today is driven by my core belief that “anything is possible and achievable”. Life presents its challenges, and it’s important to distinguish between what is easy and what is difficult. Choices and decisions can sometimes lead to confusion, shaping our perception of what is easy. Challenges provide opportunities to approach things differently, improve, and explore new paths. Not everything we strive for may be within our reach, and I’ve learned not to get caught up in minor details. It’s essential to choose our battles wisely, as winning the smaller skirmishes may not lead to success in the bigger picture. Life is a journey that requires active participation, so it’s crucial to live fully, love deeply, and find joy in all that you do.

I hope to be remembered as a woman who turned her pain into purpose by founding justUs, MH Foundation and organizing the Black Men’s Mental Health Conferences. Our goal is to raise awareness and address disparities in mental health, ultimately working towards eliminating suicidal thoughts and improving overall well-being. Through our continued dedication and efforts, we strive to make a positive impact and bring hope and healing to individuals worldwide.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Our day would begin with indulgence at a spa and nail salon, followed by a cozy brunch at a unique restaurant. During the week long trip, we would fit in a workout, explore a museum, and hike up Stone Mountain park. The highlight of our days would be spent enjoying time indoors playing board games and engaging in deep conversations. It would be relaxing, fun-filled and a much-needed reset.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shoutout to my dear friend and family who have literally been on this journey with me and have shown up to help me deliver on the quality and purpose of the Black Men’s Mental Health conferences.
