We had the good fortune of connecting with Camille Funkhouser and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Camille, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I always knew I wanted to start my own business. The only problem is that I have so many dreams and ambitions that it was hard to choose one. Over a few years, I didn’t know whether I wanted to work in fashion, music, makeup, or even sports. While I love all of those I knew that if I was starting my own business I should reach for the one that I would be able to physically work on. I had been struggling with starting and not finishing businesses for a while. until one day I made myself a necklacee. I started to wear it every day and post it everywhere, then my friend Zainab started to say that I should start selling them. The rest is history.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I work so many hours, doing business, hiring models, etc. While I work part-time at a boutique, most of my hours are spent on my brand by planning, creating, and building the future I envision. It’s exhausting but so rewarding to see my hard work take shape.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting, I’d plan an unforgettable day in Buckhead. We’d start with a Dior date at Phipps Plaza for some luxury shopping, browsing designer favorites, and soaking up the upscale vibe. Afterward, we’d have dinner at Carmel, enjoying their Mediterranean-inspired dishes in a cozy yet elegant setting. To top it all off, we’d end the night with a helicopter ride over the city, taking in breathtaking views of Atlanta’s skyline which I think is a perfect mix of luxury and adventure.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to thank my family of course. I wouldn’t be where I am without them. They support me through everything. I would also like to thank my friend Zainab for encouraging me to start my company and asking for nothing in return. And lastly, my customers. Who I consider my friends too.
