We had the good fortune of connecting with Cameron Flaisch and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cameron, what inspires you?
My couples. There is no magic formula to taking impactful photos. It’s about pairing the right photographer with the right couple. I will never try to visually portray my couple as something they are not. Not everyone needs the moody vibe. Not every couple wants super “smiley” photos. Everyone is unique. It’s our job to connect with those couples and capture them in the most beautiful way possible.
What should our readers know about your business?
Work ethic is and always has been top priority for me. From the get go I have always viewed myself as an incredibly hard worker. I was raised by two European parents with unmatchable work ethic. My mother moved to this country barely knowing English and built a reputation from the ground up based on how hard she worked. Growing up, my father used to always say ” we may be a lot of things, but lazy isn’t one of them.” That constantly resonates with me and has been applied to my business model since day 1. It doesn’t matter if it’s a wedding, concert or corporate event coverage, I have heard many times from wedding guests and others that they didn’t see me stop. I rarely do.
I learned early on in my business that perception is huge. It’s not a good look for a business owner to look bored, or content. There is always a photo to take. When you stop trying and rest in complacency is when you miss the best moments. People are putting a lot of trust in us to capture the moments they experience as well as the ones they miss. It’s our job to be there and tell that story.
If there is one thing I want the world to know about my brand is that you’re hiring the hardest working photographer or team of photographers you can. I strive for excellence in ways of work ethic and creative story telling. I am constantly going to get you the best photos on your wedding day, while you’re on tour with your band, or when your family decides to take some casual photos at the park. Every moment is special. Every moment is captured.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I had a friend visiting I would show them everything local that I could. I have been so fortunate to travel all over the world through photography and videography. I don’t look for things I can see elsewhere. If you’re taking the time to see what’s unique about my area- I’ll show you exactly that. The nice thing about living in a small town like Rome, GA is that you get to know everyone. There is something special in that. Being able to walk down the street and run into someone who is genuinely interested in what you have been up to and how things are going. The small town vibe is nice. It helps keep your community close.
That being said, I’ve always placed a large value on community. I’m constantly trying to show others the importance of it as well. You can bet that I’m going to introduce you to my friends, local business owners, and other people that I choose to spend my free time with.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to dedicate this whole shoutout to the clients that trust me with capturing moments in their life no matter the size.
