We had the good fortune of connecting with Camelia (Mimi) Felton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Camelia (Mimi), can you tell us about an impactful book you’ve read and why you liked it or what impact it had on you?
Mimi’s Yoga Kids is a business that strives on making a difference in my community and the world. I started with the mission and goal to infuse mindfulness, inner peace, meditation and imagination through yoga practices. I wanted to bring yoga to communities and spaces that didn’t think yoga was for them! Since starting my business I been able to go into schools, work with amazing non-profits and collaborate with other amazing yogis to bring yoga to all. Yoga is a practice that is for everyone. Yoga simply means union. It’s where we connect our body, mind and spirit as one to create a happy, healthy and whole human being. When we can be happy within ourselves we can then makes other feel and know happiness for themselves. It is my purpose to help others find that. I woke up with joy on my heart that I can do this each and every day. I know that I am making a difference within and around me. I can and I will get yoga to as many humans as I can.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I feel what sets me apart is that I bring myself to what I do! I am here to serve and make this world a better place. I do things organically and I feel that is what keeps me learning and growing. I has not been easy but it has been so much fun learning and growing. I overcome by just moving forward and staying positive. I’ve learned that what is for you is for you. Trust the process and the journey. I want the world to know that I am here. The world needs what I have to give! That I am a light that will shine through living with purpose and passion to make a difference in all that I do!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would definitely go eat! I am a foodie and would have to do a food tour!!! I love Ponce City Market because that have a lot of great spots in one place. Then shopping at the Shops At Buckhead. After that do a nice bike ride at Piedmont Park and get some yummy dessert from Cafe Intermezzo.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to give thanks to GOD! I am because of Him! I would like to thank my wonderful husband. His love, patience and support is everything! I want to thank my family and my friends that support Mimi’s Yoga Kids! I am also very thankful for my amazing yoga community. I keep going because of you trust and faith in me! Thank you!!!
