Meet Calvin Hill | Fragrance Designer & Author

We had the good fortune of connecting with Calvin Hill and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Calvin, what is the most important factor behind your success?
One of my keys to success is to have a passion for what you love to do. As A child you think you may want to become A Doctor, Lawyer, fashion designer, or President. But things change as you get older and find what your passion is. And my passion is to create a brand that one day is known as a household name. Nivlac The Brand started out with A vision for being the voice for those who went through similar life issues. Nivlac is Calvin spelled backward I was creative with my brand, I started off by writing a book (Autobiography). Not long after that, I created a Luxury fragrance line. I am very passionate about making people be aware of self-love. Make great choices in life, like research, dedicate time, and money is some tools that will help you succeed in what you enjoy doing this is what makes a successful brand.

One of the most important factors behind Nivlac The Brand, is the openness and  realness of the brand. I am not afraid to put myself out there and, market or network to help my brand. Due to the pandemic, we faced in this day and age with Covid.  Having the ability to still do online sales and attend events. I think allowing trendy, unique, and creative products is what my consumers look for.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

I am currently a fragrance manager, it brings me joy to see the smile and self-confidence on people’s faces knowing they made an emotional purchase. Fragrances is a mood changer that sets the tone for feeling good and smelling great. I am also one of or the only first Black male fragrance designer. With over 20 years of experience in the industry, I have the knowledge and the passion for it. My brand is my names spelled backward NIVLAC /CALVIN and I’m still adding on to my brand. I would like to create jobs and provide a positive brand that people will remember and enjoy. I learned a few lessons while  being the CEO of Nivlac The Brand. I did a SWOT analysis, its a study that helps businesses and entrepreneurs.  SWOT stands for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Trends this  study, has helped my brand. I want the world to know that I’m an open book that stands by integrity, compassion, strength, and innovation. Nivlac The Brand is the future for becoming a household name like Mickey Mouse and Coca Cola.

I learned a valuable lesson in life find what makes you happy, find a good A support system. If you don’t succeed try again and again. Find out how can you improve your Brand and your Life. Starting a business was not easy, there has to be plenty of research, studying, marketing, investments, profits and still remain competitive. Having more social sites and gatherings has helped my Brand.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m from Michigan, and our city didn’t offer a lot of attractions and activities that Atlanta has to offer. Atlanta has several locations that I find enjoyable. My personal favorite is when family/friends come to visit I take them to  Ponce City Market off Ponce de Leon Ave. The attractions of all the shops, restaurants, and bars are all in one location. Back home in Michigan, we are surrounded by Lake Michigan. Family and Friends went to the beach on the weekends or local activities. Ponce City Market has a rooftop overlooking the city of Atlanta and on the rooftop It’s like an adult amusement playground.  They feature games, cocktails, and other activities. I recommend anyone visiting Atlanta to check out this location. After this I would take them to shop at Atlantic Station full of retail stores, restaurants, and onsite festivals. I was introduced to Atlantic station when I first moved to Atlanta and I enjoyed everything it had to offer. Love the movie theater there it has a bar inside and comfortable seating. These two spots thus far are my favorites places to go in Atlanta.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to give thanks to my deceased Grandmother, she was my everything. She allowed me to show me creative side  without any judgments. I called her Grannie, one of my female fragrances in memory of her legacy is called Heaven. Always show love and gratitude towards my creator, the man up above my GOD. Who has kept me living to show the world NIVLAC is a chosen vessel and will have a positive impact on the earth.
