We had the good fortune of connecting with Caleb Y Moon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Caleb, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Art speaks to my soul as it does for everyone else in the world. There have been so many moments in my life where books, poems, paintings/drawings, and film has made me into a more empathetic and well-rounded person.

I want to do that for other people through my acting and other creative endeavors; changing people’s perspectives and educating those to have a deeper understanding for the people around them.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My goal, in everything I do, is to bring the story of kindness into all my outlets: acting, filmmaking, photography, podcasting, etc. In a world where we draw more lines between different groups of people/cultures, I feel it is important to help people gain empathy and understanding for unfamiliar subjects, utilizing art.

As a creative, I believe professionalism is more of a perspective/work ethic rather than a degree or a certain job title. Although I still am quite new to the film industry, I consider every job important and choose to perform to the best of my ability in every project. This idea of taking charge of my own career, is what I have found to be the most difficult hurdle I had to overcome. As an actor, I am my own boss, employee and student, and it took me a long time to get to a place of diligence and discipline.

There are three rules I like to live by.
1. Be kind and you will receive kindness.
2. Invest in the people who truly want to know you.
3. In being good to others, don’t forget to be good to yourself.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
These are all my favorite spots in Atlanta.

Coffee/Baked Goods:
1. Zoom Coffee Roasters
2. Soon’s Bakery
3. Blue Mountain Coffee Roasters
4. BRASH Coffee

Restaurants
1. Big Sister’s Kitchen (Korean)
2. Cajun Blues (Cajun Seafood/Live Music)
3. Flower Child (Healthy Bowls/Veg or Vegan)
4. Sushi & Co. (Japanese)
5. Arirang K (Korean BBQ/Japanese)

Nature
1. East Palisades (Chattahoochee River Hiking Trail)
2. Cloudland Canyon State Park (Waterfalls and Canyon Hiking Trail)

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have to thank actor, coach and mentor, Bruce Blackshear. I started in his class, B. LEAVE IT Acting Studio, in the fall of 2021. He is the main reason I have grown so much as a creative, but also as a person. He is very passionate about the craft of acting and also towards his students, whom he considers to be a part of his family/ministry.

My faith as a Christian is very important to me, and there have been times where I considered a different career path because of how dark the film industry could be, but Bruce showed me how you can follow God and still be a light to others where there may be darkness. I greatly respect him and many others who are an example of this in my life and also in the film industry.
