We had the good fortune of connecting with Cajeanna Knox and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cajeanna, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk taking is one of those things that stops MOST people from living the life of their dreams, and I admit it is very scary to jump into the unknown. For a while I kept getting intuitive nudges to leave my job to pursue the creative endeavor I’m doing now and I couldn’t do it, because I wanted to keep my security blanket and be on the safest path possible. But overtime it felt like I was drowning in work- doing my 9-5 and then coming home to fulfill orders, it became very stressful. I knew I had to let go some of my work load, so I came to an ultimatum-take a leap of faith and pursue my art full fledge, or take the safe route with a guaranteed income. After pondering both paths for a while I finally decided to take the risk, and I left my job. I’ve been a full time artist for 5 months and I must say it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made so far. I’ve had so many opportunities present themselves to me since and I feel so grateful to be able to be doing something I love doing on the daily. I decided to take the risk because life is so short, and you see all the time people working jobs that they utterly despise and in turn feeling resentful and unsatisfied with their lives- I refuse to be apart of that cycle. If I have a chance to do something I love and make a comfortable living from it, the risk is definitely worth the shot. People rarely regret taking the safer route, they regret not taking the golden opportunity when it’s presented to them, and I want to live a life with no regrets.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have been an artist my entire life, always the creative one out of any group of friends I had. I loved drawing cartoon characters and portraits and it’s something I still do to this day. Professionally, I am now a jewelry designer and it’s definitely a rewarding career path. I would say this path chose me, it wasn’t something I dreamt or fantasized of doing whatsoever. I started taking an interest in crystals in 2019 and in the same year I was invited to take a wire wrapping class. Initially, I took the class with the intention to wrap stones for myself and never thought of having a business revolving around wire-wrapped crystals. I would wear the pendants I made for myself to work, and soon I had several coworkers asking me to make one for them, which I did, and it spread like wildfire. I kept getting more and more requests and so I decided to make an Instagram for my jewelry, on which I now have almost 11,000 followers. I make unique custom jewelry out of crystals and I’m very versatile with what I can design- including necklaces, pendants, waist beads, earrings, bracelets and keychains. Pretty much you name it and I’ll be more than happy to create something for you. I love to channel my vivacious personality into my work and a tiny piece of me is in every piece of jewelry I design. The jewelry I make is very intentional, with meanings behind each and every stone and I feel like that’s what people value the most. I am so proud to have a business that revolves around healing and intention, while being able to add my own spark into every design.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I live in Modesto, California. It’s a pretty small town in the rural part of California so really there’s not much to do out here. I love to visit the craft stores and crystal shops nearby or my daily trip to Starbucks LOL.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate this shoutout to my grandfather who has always believed in me and my potential and is the epitome of unconditional love. His compassion and softness has always been a guiding a light and has made me into the woman I am today. I have had so many amazing mentors and friends that have helped me on my journey, it’s so hard to name them all -it really does take a village, but just know I cherish and am so grateful for each an every helping hand I’ve had along the way.
