We had the good fortune of connecting with Caitlin Seaton and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Caitlin, what role has risk played in your life or career?
No risk, no reward. I took a risk when I decided to start my business. It was the beginning of the pandemic and I wasn’t educated on anything nail related at the time. There are also so many logistics that I’m still learning and figuring out. I do however think it was the best decision that I’ve made in my twenties.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I think being myself sets me apart from others. Everyone kind of has a natural aesthetic about them and I think that mine shines through my work. As far as the journey to get to where I am now, it hasn’t been easy. A lot of things worth having aren’t easy. I’m learning everyday as I go and as I research.. I also have learned a lot from my mistakes; it’s bittersweet.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If a best friend were to come visit me in Atlanta, I’d probably take them on an artsy date. There’s this pottery place called Mudfire that teaches you how to spin pottery on the wheel. You have an instructor and they provide all of the equipment for you; it’s a very calm stress free environment. After, pottery I’d probably take them to Slim & Husky’s for lunch. Then somewhere nicer for dinner.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
