We had the good fortune of connecting with C. Nathaniel Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi C. Nathaniel, every day, we hear about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Expected End Entertainment was created to merge my interests in the written word and images – still and moving, so we created the company as an incubator for all things media and entertainment, including book publishing, film production, and consulting and coaching services for creatives.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career. What can you share with our community?
Growing up in the inner city of Baltimore, I didn’t have a lot of positive role models to push me toward my passion for writing and pursuing the creative ideas I had. But I was determined to see those ideas develop into books, television shows, and movies. Although I still have huge goals ahead of me, I am proud of the journey that has seen me accomplish many of my childhood dreams, including becoming a bestselling author (now with 17 books), becoming an award-winning filmmaker, and mentoring others to do the same. I am proudest of the brand we are building as a company and as a team that creates positive, uplifting content, as well as inspirational and motivational creatives who, in turn, pay it forward.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friends visited Atlanta, I know they would enjoy all the eateries the city has to offer, especially the ones that they see on many of the television shows that feature certain restaurants for their specialties, like Mary Mac’s Tea Room, The Varsity and Two Urban Licks. But as a pizzaologist, as I like to call myself, I’d have to take them to my favorite pizza spots, Nancy’s Chicago Pizza and Blue Moon Pizza. Although, I am not a club person, I’m sure they would want to experience the nightlife and run into some of the local celebrities and visiting celebrities in town filming movies, for concerts or sporting events. Depending on the time of the year, maybe we would check out a basketball, baseball, football or soccer game.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I dedicate my shoutout to the entire Team EX3, starting with my wife Tarai, the first lady of Team EX3, my children, and my grandboys, who are my drive to leave this legacy. Also, a huge debt of gratitude goes to all those who trust Expected End Entertainment to help them live their dreams and fulfil their purposes through our services, our books, our movies and other programs.
