We had the good fortune of connecting with C.L. Miller III and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi C.L., we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Becoming my own boss and not depending on another person to fund my dreams & empathize with my future goals was a decision I made years ago as a teenager but didn’t put it into effect until maybe about 5-6 years ago when I officially stopped working for various corporations and started my own.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
All things are possible with great dedication and determination. I started the journey of becoming a CEO under several business umbrellas, knowing the road wouldn’t be easy. But with the help of a solid team, I’ve learned that many goals and deadlines can be met while still enjoying the fruits of life. I not only have my media production company, but I have also ventured into business coaching, photography, trucking, and now, real estate.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

I currently split my time between my hometown of Chicago, IL and Buckhead-Atlanta, GA.

I have an authentic liking towards the downtown area of Chicago where there is great food, shopping, and amazing views of the city. Chicago is known for having some of the greatest architectural structures in the country, if not the world.

Atlanta is also great for the food, great people to network with, and good music. When I have visitors, we like to take in a Hawks or Falcons game. I love shopping at Phipps Plaza. Copper Cove is great for American food and cocktails with flair, and when I am missing some of that down home cooking and family meals, I head to Mary Macs Tea Room. You just can’t beat that southern cooking!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to dedicate my shoutout to my own father! Being a successful business owner and also having the ability to manage my responsibilities of being a father to my 4 children, as well as being a man whose heart is filled with love towards my family and friends are all thing that I give credit to my father, a great and honorable man who helped instill so much wisdom, courage, and leadership in me. Our long talks and time spent bonding never goes unnoticed in my book.
