We had the good fortune of connecting with C.J. Ridings and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi C.J., maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I got into recording and mixing as a teenager just because I played in bands and we wanted recordings. I slowly expanded my knowledge and tools until here we are 15+ years later and I do it full time.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
It’s been a very slow grind to get to being full time with recording and mixing. I think the biggest factor that has helped me is that I’ve never stopped trying to learn. I’m constantly trying to improve and take the quality of what I do to the next level.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When I lived around Ponce, The Local was my bar of choice. As far as things to do, probably stroll around Little 5, downtown Decatur, or spend a day hiking or biking around Stone Mountain. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I had a long term stay at Southern Tracks, a legendary Atlanta recording studio, learning from the best this city had to offer as far as recording rock music. There were many engineers and artists that came through there that I got to be a fly on the wall for and have totally shaped my thought process.
