We had the good fortune of connecting with C. Iridian Sanchez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

We’d love to start by chatting about how your business helps the community. What can you share with our readers?
From a very young age I’ve known I wanted to be someone “important” in life although I didn’t quite know how to execute my desire. About half a decade ago I had an epiphany; I Iridian Sanchez can NOT change the whole world single handedly . It’s just not realistic so I decided to change people’s life one person at a time and I have succeeded , or so I chose to believe. Body Modification not only is my passion but it has been proven to boost an individuals self-confidence. Mental health is going through an epidemic & I chose to believe this problem has always been here ,the only difference is now there is awareness causing people to be more open about the subject. One of every five Americans suffers from mental illness, that’s a total of 16.5 million Americans. The career I have chosen can’t “cure” but it can set people free. It sounds funny but it’s true . I had an elderly lady come to me for a simple nose piercing 2 years ago , newly widowed . I will never forget her a soon as I pierced her she cried and proceeded to hug me . I was scarred I had hurt her but something told me she wasn’t in physical pain so I hugged back. Once she composed herself she told me her story. She had been married to a male chauvinist for a little over three decades not once allowing her to be herself . She did say ” honey do not get me wrong he was an amazing man ,father, and husband and I loved him dearly but I missed me ”. I couldn’t believe something as small as a nose piercing could bring this woman some type of joy. After her I payed more attention to my costumers and begun bonding with them and hearing their stories . Girls who hated their nose now add a diamond and now love it . Moms take away from their tiger marks and add a belly ring . I try and make sure everyone who leaves my room has a smile on their face and love themselves a little more before leaving. I remind both men and females that they are beautiful

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The body modifying industry is rapidly growing increasing the competition. I have first handedly seen how nasty competition can get but I believe where one eats two can eat . There is enough sun for everyone to shine I do my best to concentrate on my work and my work only but it can be hard. I have been repeatedly attacked by competition trying to shut me down permanently spreading lies and sending the health department but they have no success. I do everything by the book no ands ,ors ,ifs or buts . I keep in mind that the true will set me free and so far it’s been working. My work speaks for itself and the community loves me . I don’t run a spiteful shop it’s all love and peace over here ;which is why I believe I have success .Otherwise people wouldn’t drive 2 hours to get their nose pierced by me , I’m sure they drive past 50 shops . Positivity is key .

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love my culture and miss my roots so Plaza Fiesta will forever be on my list. It’s what I call a small Mexican mall full of our culture ( music, food, art, attire). The Georgia Aquarium is a majestic place starting off with the dolphin show.Piedmont park is a beautiful place to relax and exercise with nice bars on the strip .

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I will never get tired of saying this , First and foremost I want to thank GOD because without him my success would not be possible . I want to thank my mother for showing me how to be a hard worker and for trying so hard to be better everyday . Thank you mother for leading me in example showing me to be self sufficient , it took me years but I finally learned. Thank you to my boss & brother Ro for forever standing behind me pushing me forward when I get tired and/or comfortable. Thank you to my sister Sade I don’t give her enough credit for what she has done with me spiritually .Thank you to the customers because without them I wouldn’t have a career. I never give myself enough credit so I’m going to pull a ”Snoop Dogg”. I want to thank me for believing in me, for loving myself enough to heal so that I could love and spread the love . I would like to thank GOD once again because he is my beginning and end.
