We had the good fortune of connecting with C.C. BEY and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi C.C., what role has risk played in your life or career?
Taking risks; that’s a core root of why I’m talking with you right now. I feel like the more risks you’re willing to take on yourself the more beneficial your experiences, wether they be bad or good in perspective, its all lessons. The risk I took on myself to fly across the country from Murfreesboro TN to San Francisco Bay Area, CA and leave my family, daughters, friends etc behind has helped me to discover my most transparent & vulnerable self & rejuvenate my passion for art. I am thankful for the opportunities I have been able to enjoy & learn; if I didn’t believe in my ability to weather any sort of storm I wouldn’t have taken such a tremendous chance. At the end of the day I equate ‘risks’ to “Turning pain to power” The life motto of my HAppy Life Recording/DieNKulurs Collection Brand.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am actually still learning how to be “professional” really that was an aspect of art i didn’t grasp until recently, its always been about the love of the art for me. quitting is about the only easy thing nowadays, it definitely hasnt been an easy journey to where I am now with my art. Moving across the country was a total perspective shift. However, even before the move I made, there were countless obstacles that made me reconsider my purpose & refresh my expectations. I am learning with each day to be consistent & remain balanced. When I am riding a high energy I make sure to reflect on what I can do better & planning for the worst, when I am feeling low, I ponder on my triumphs over past challenges that help me shift my mood & look towards the light. HAppy Life Recordings & DieNKulurs Collection are literal creations out of chaos. Discovering your own sense of beauty inside a chaotic environment defined by rules you don’t have to live by. You can make your own rules, you CAN create your own home, & family, your own definition of success & what it means to feel alive. How would you live if you created your own rules? HAppy Life is an experiment of experience. Everyday is another opportunity to “Turn Pain into Power” .

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I moved over to the San Francisco area last year around September, but I’ve been in the bay area now for a few years & I have a couple ‘go-to’ locations for eating & having a fun time. on a week long trip, (make sure to fly into SFO because its cheaper) when you touch down we would definitely hit a dispensary my favorite would be Elevated SF, great selection of flavors/quality for the price. Afterwards, it would be a day of smoking & maybe check out Cooley Landing Park. Have a mid day meal at ‘little skillet’ downtown off fourth st. spend a day or town kicked back smoking good dodi, probably check out K1 indoor speed track & have some pizza from ‘little star’ in the mission. take you across the bay bridge & take a walk around ‘lake merritt’ in oakland, get some tacos from ‘tacos mi rancho’ & check out the groove downtown late night there is always a move to make. another day would take us to the shores, maybe hit ‘pacifica pier’ or ‘china beach’ maybe hang out at ‘lands end’ & enjoy the scenery or if you prefer to pull up & relax you can always go to ‘twin peaks’ for one of the best views in the bay area. There are a plethora of good eats, entertainment, & sights here. from drive in theaters in concord & san jose, to national parks, the sports or the night life there is always something/somehwere here in the Bay.
