Meet Byron Franklin | Law enforcement firearms instructor & tactical handcuffing & stop the bleed instructor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Byron Franklin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Byron, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process was just looking at the bigger picture from having a job. Most people have a nice paying job and they are satisfied. I would always be thinking, if they can afford to pay me this much, how much are they making? That was my light bulb moment and I started to take the journey of becoming an entrepreneur. Just think if your favorite basketball player is making 60 million a year, imagine what the person signing his checks is making?

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I think the one thing that sets me & my company apart from others is the time I have been an instructor and really being passionate about people learning. It’s way more instructors now and that’s great, however a lot just are in it for the money. I always treat my clients and train them the same way I would my mother or family because I’d much rather them survive a life threatening situation than celebrating the money I made from them. However it is a business.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I think we would go do some hiking because that’s fun and with various trails you can increase the difficulty each time. For food , Wild Crab would be the spot for some delicious sea food and great drinks. Then go downtown and shop then goto the range and do some shooting lol.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shout out would have to be split between my mother for giving me a drive and support, my father for giving me support and ideas, my sister looking over me from the heavenly skies, & last but not least Michael Hall, who pushed me to become a firearms instructor.
