We had the good fortune of connecting with Bryson Darnell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bryson, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I’ve always heard “success comes to those who work hard”. Although true, my success has been powered by a deep rooted passion for becoming the best possible version of myself. That passion comes from watching my parents continually strive for perfection and growth in their lives, both personal and professional. As I watched and learned from them I saw all the qualities it took to become successful, so I applied those qualities to my life. That’s when my Aesthetic journey began. As a new Aesthetician I instantly knew I wanted to be in the medical aesthetic industry. Every job I got at first was with day spas so I spent so much time and energy training and learning new skills to reach my goal. Then I did it! I got a job in a Medical Spa, known as OVME, as an Aesthetician.
Although I finally reached my goal of being in the medical industry I’m still not done growing. I truly believe the most successful people are always looking for ways to expand their knowledge and “one up” themselves. Just remember, with every big win you should give yourself time to celebrate and truly FEEL that moment before reaching for the next big thing.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I became an Aesthetician in 2020 and had my mind set on what my career would look like when I began working. I wanted to get my license and start working in a Medical Spa. With 2020 being as crazy of a year as it was, the spa industry was definitely hurting so my Aesthetic journey was slowed down. The first year working as an Aesthetician was difficult for me because I felt very far from my goal. I was working in a day spa and couldn’t perform any Medical Aesthetics treatments that I had been trained on. After 2 years I left and began a new spa job where I was able to do slightly more but my skill set was still being stifled. By this point I had my Esthetician license, Assistant Laser Practitioner License, many certifications, and days of shadowing with medical Aestheticians. The second job was better but I was still dead set on getting a job in a medical spa. Then I got an interview with OVME and before I knew it I was a Medical Aesthetician at their Alpharetta location! Everyday I go to work on cloud 9 now knowing all of that hard work paid off and I’m working my dream job now. It’s like Albert Schweitzer said “ Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.”

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m a little new to the city scene so I’m afraid I would be the best friend needing the itinerary!

As someone originally from Ellijay, GA, I can say fall in the mountains is beautiful. I would recommend checking out downtown and going to The Roof, wine tasting, checking out the apple houses for fresh apples, and then retreating to the cabin for a chill evening.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’m very thankful for my parents, Mitzi and Bill Darnell. I made a last minute decision halfway through an accounting degree to switch to Aesthetics and they immediately supported me. Without their support and guidance I’m not sure I would be as successful as I am today. I would also like to give a huge thank you to OVME. OVME is the Medical Spa that has allowed me to live my dream of working in the medical aesthetics field and I am very grateful for them.
