We had the good fortune of connecting with Bryan Byrd and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bryan, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I feel what has allowed me to be successful is the ability to adapt and recreate. Being someone who occupies many hats the turning point is being able to do things that are your natural strengths while generating an public or audience for that need convincingly. Byrdhouse Media is an umbrella for all my gifts without cementing me in one or another. Whether in Deejaying, Music Producing, Photography and Food Service it all embodies me as a person. The most important factor is to have knowledge of self then become comfortable in that and execute.
What should our readers know about your business?
What most people don’t know is that I have over 15years in Banking & Finance which is where I credit my understanding for business. Food has always been a passion, as I grew up watching Iron Chef with my brother imagining our Hamburger Helper was a 5 Star dish. After spending many years in clubs and lounges DJing working with many owners and getting a bird’s eye view I was approached to manage and consult Black Diamond Lounge in 2018-2019. Watching that business get off to such a great start then having to pull back as the vision and direction i foresaw fled, I knew eventually I wanted to start something again one day. Fast forward 2021 being approached by my now close business partners about joining a team of brothers trying to get in a Food Truck going, the timing was a sign from God. Like anything worth having, it has not been a cake walk in a industry like Food and Beverage Nevertheless I the process of business . The world should know ByrdHouse is a name and brand simply not to be fucked with. The best thing I can tell anyone is to keep going !
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First of All, Atlanta is Full! Being a Georgia resident and here since High School by friends often tap in with me. I would have to take them to High Musesum then over to the MLK and Civil Rights Exhibit. Its so many food spots but no free promo. Kick over at the west end as the culture is true to Atlanta . Lastly there is nothing like a Saturday night on Edgewood, keep ya head on swivel.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Much Credit must be given to my parents who have always supported me, From my first beat machine to working on my Food Truck now when needed. Their support has instrumental . Moreover my artist and business partner Dre Myers has been there every step of the way in business. He put the battery in Byrd House and my DJ services by allowing me to move Atlanta’s underground music scene being his biggest cheerleader which only sharpen my focus even more. Lastly a book I read as I given when graduating with my masters in business that impacted me greatly is TD Jakes “Instinct” . This book open my eyes more than I can express. It confirmed what I always knew to be true and turned my business from a side hustle to a real money maker.
