We had the good fortune of connecting with Brooke & Victor Horn and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brooke & Victor, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I’m Brooke! I was born and raised in Birmingham, AL (the Magic City) . Being a girly girl I was never really into cooking; but, I always watched my aunt and grandmother in the kitchen whipping those pots! Fast forward, I got married to a football player so I had to cook.. the peanut butter and jelly sandwich’s wouldn’t work too much longer. So reaching back to my childhood I started remembering everything they taught me. The more I cooked, the more I loved it! Cooking for others is definitely a love language for me.. and here we are!
I’m Victor! I was born and raised in Huntsville, AL ( the Rocket City). Coming from a family that thrives on having family-gathering dinners. It was important to have good food around the table. Hearing “ did you add this in”, “don’t forget to take that out the oven on time”, “make sure you measure that etc.” Phrases such as these motivated me to always give my best when cooking for Brooke and others. Gotta put my elbows and knee in it!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Flip this Meal came about because Brooke didn’t eat leftovers. Victor loves eating leftovers for days. So we had to come to a happy medium .Food prices were rising and we had to come up with a way to cut cost and not cut flavor. This way Victor can keep eating leftovers and Brooke can get new meals! We just jumped out there and reached out to our publicist, Jeremy Ervin, and our Videographer/Editor, Kirk Jordan. They loved the idea and we just clicked! Coming up with Flips are not easy but we love the challenge. This has strengthened our marriage and makes our communication easier because we have fun in the kitchen! We are most proud of our meals that we can cook together. We want the world to know anything is possible when you believe and show how marriage can be fun!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Brooke’s ShoutOuts:

And I apply this quote every day from my late father, “If a task is once begun, never leave it till it’s done. Be the labor great or small, do it well or not at all. – Author Unknown
