We had the good fortune of connecting with Brock James and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brock, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
State of Mind was created to give an opportunity for everyone to look and feel their best self no matter what their success level. The products are a reminder for people to stay focused and push through to achieve greatness. We support and represent all hard-working people who lead with the best version of themselves everyday.

What should our readers know about your business?
Born in the streets of New York City, in July, 2019. State of mind was created by pioneers working on their masterpiece and for game changers who never give up. Our goal is to give every individual the opportunity to look and feel their best, no matter what. We support and represent all hard-working people who lead with the best version of themselves everyday.

Everyone has a different story, a different dream. State of Mind is here for your journey towards becoming your best self. We believe in never losing focus on your goals and your success as an individual.

It hasn’t been an easy road, it took several tries until I was finally able to build a successful brand. It’s all about determination and persistence.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I highly recommend Ponce City Market and the Beltline. There are many great restaurants and bar along the beltline. My favorite spot to hit is Ladybird, grab a drink on a late afternoon with some friends in the patio and just have a good time.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My partner Rich Scott has been helping me build State of Mind here in Atlanta. I love his drive and passion for the business. I would not be able to do this without his help. Also, Steph Zagreda has been helping me build my brand since day one back in New York. There are several people who have helped me along the way but these two individuals definitely deserve a shout out.
