We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittney White and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brittney, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I’ve always struggled with eczema and sensitive skin. At different points in my life, I also dealt with acne-prone skin, which sparked my interest in finding ways to improve my skin naturally. Growing up, my grandma was a major influence on me. She worked in the medical field but also embraced holistic and natural remedies. I remember visiting her and watching her cook, can food, make teas, and share them with me. She also taught me how to sew and always inspired me with her ability to create. The women in my family often shared their own remedies for my skin issues, from using tea tree oil on pimples to applying turmeric for scars or oatmeal to soothe eczema.
Initially, I wanted to become a sports medicine doctor because I enjoyed learning about the human body and helping others feel their best. While I didn’t go down that exact path, I found a similar purpose in personal training. That experience deepened my understanding of health and wellness, which further fueled my desire to create solutions for skin issues like mine.
In 2020, I decided to create my own body care products that wouldn’t irritate my skin, trigger eczema flare-ups, or contain harmful chemicals. I wanted something gentle and effective that I could also share with others. I started researching, reading books, and experimenting with recipes for body butters and soaps. My first bar of soap was designed for eczema, and it was tested on family and friends. It worked wonders for my skin, my grandfather’s eczema, and even a friend’s newborns. Seeing the positive impact my products had on others motivated me to continue, and from there, my business began to blossom.

The journey to get here hasn’t always been easy. Like any entrepreneur, I’ve faced challenges along the way—from navigating business logistics to maintaining faith in my vision during difficult times. But I’ve learned so much about resilience, adaptability, and the importance of staying true to my mission. These lessons have shaped both me and my business into what they are today.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First, we’d kick off the day with a strength training workout to get those endorphins flowing, followed by some relaxation in the sauna. Afterward, we’d shower using my Soothing Serenity Bars and Honeydew Glow Polish to exfoliate and hydrate the skin, finishing with some body butter for that extra glow.
Next, we’d visit a local market where I’d be vending and sharing my products. Markets are fantastic for meeting new people, supporting small businesses, and discovering unique, local treasures.
For lunch, I’d take them to Tassili’s Raw Reality in the West End for the best raw vegan wraps. Then, we’d either head to a lyra class for some fun and movement or visit the High Museum of Art to check out an exclusive exhibit. I still think about the amazing Virgil Abloh exhibit I saw there in 2020—it was unforgettable.
In the evening, we’d dress up and head to a live jazz concert at St. James Live or explore a hidden speakeasy like Red Phone Booth for craft cocktails and an intimate atmosphere. It’s the perfect way to wind down, immerse ourselves in the city’s artistic vibe, and enjoy a night of great music and conversation.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my grandma, my mom, and the women in my family. My grandma was a constant source of inspiration for me growing up. She combines her medical expertise with a passion for holistic and natural remedies. I’ll never forget the times I spent with her in the kitchen—whether she was cooking, canning, brewing teas, or crocheting, she would always share what she was making with me. She even taught me how to sew. When I first got the idea to make my own body care products, she was the first person I called. She immediately offered to help and even showed me how to make soap. That first bar of soap came to life in her kitchen, and her encouragement gave me the confidence to pursue my vision.
My mom has also been a huge influence on me throughout my life. She’s been an entrepreneur my whole life, running nonprofits, helping women, and pursuing other creative passions. Her strength, determination, and unwavering support have always inspired me to follow my own entrepreneurial path. Without her support and guidance, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
The women in my family have always been there for me, especially when it came to my skin struggles, along with motivating me to pursue my passions. Their love and support not only helped me manage my skin but also inspired me to create solutions that others could benefit from too. Their influence and encouragement have played such a significant role in shaping who I am and the work I do today.
