Meet Brittney Walker | Mom, Serial Entrepreneur, Aspiring Business Consultant and Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittney Walker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittney, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
When I created my brand my vision was to provide the best 613 Colored hair on the market. As I began I quickly moved into selling natural colored hair and also added Shapewear to my product list. From here I developed a deeper mission or vision to make women feel amazing by providing the highest quality products. I want to create a community that encourages women to step boldly into their highest Authentic self! I aspire to normalize self care and luxury especially to women in the Black community through my brand which is my target market. I would like for my hard work in developing and growing my brand to encourage all women to go after their dreams no matter how big or small, where they come from or their, or social status. I want to be the example for manifesting your vision through positive thoughts and routine. My vision quickly went from providing quality hair to creating a movement that is changing and will change many women’s lives through my brand and work.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I currently own and operate a Hair and Shapewear Company. I have always had a passion for hair and fashion since a child. My mother has always worn blonde (613) hair throughout my life so it was like a norm to me. I can remember my mother always fussing at my sister for spending all her money at the hair store changing her hair every three. days!. She always kept her hair so fly and I always said when I grew up I was going to keep my hair laid and change it every 3 days too! And here I am lol!! My spouse bought me my first waist trainer in 2014 and kind of became obsessed with the look the waist trainer provided and my confidence when wearing it. I haven’t looked back since. I decided to channel my passion to help other women look and feel their best by providing the best of these 2 products on the market. I developed somewhat of a growing following and support by investing heavily into upgrading my business. Every time people turn around I am adding or making something better. Most people love seeing the progress when they have saw where you started from. They feel they can relate to that and that motivates me, Being my AUTHENTIC self and also helping and pulling others up around me also got me to where I am at as well. I am a believer of working WITH God to manifest your greatest dreams and I try to instill that in others. It was not easy getting to where I am today. From all the money that has been invested to suffering from anxiety from fear of self and people not supporting me the journey has not been all sweet. However I am thankful for every bump in the road and that I Persevered and did not give up. I am seeing the fruits of my labor now after almost 4 years and it feels great. I know it will only get better which keeps me going.!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am not from the city I am originally from Albany so I am not familiar with a lot of the cities gems. However I love Hattie Marie’s BBQ! I would definitely take them to Harold’s, Cirque for the vibesss lol. I would take them to Centennial Park and Stone Mountain which are beautiful landmarks that I have visited. So many other places the city has to offer. those are a few I know of off hand.

I would like to thank anyone who has believed and supported my dreams. We can get nowhere alone and I have had awesome people surrounding me and pushing me throughout my journey! They know who they are!
