Meet Brittany Stalnaker | Entrepreneur & Realtor®

We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Stalnaker and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brittany, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I started Wannabe Charcuterie in 2020 as a way to serve the local community. Little did I know, this would become a wonderful way for families to enjoy their time together at home during the events of 2020! After months practicing my craft, I was able to announce Wannabe Charcuterie to the Atlanta area! It has truly been such a blessing being a small part of so many local holidays, birthday parties, bridal & baby showers. weddings, etc. I am truly honored that we get to play a role in these events!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
We carefully select every ingredient to curate the perfect board that is truly custom to your event (even if your “event” is just a date-night at home). Considering we are able to customize each order, we are able to become a part of the event itself. Simple gestures like custom charcuterie cone displays or added decor for a baby shower create a bond with families that I’ll never forget.
It takes time, energy, and dedication to start and run a business… let alone 2! If anyone says running a business is easy, they aren’t telling you the whole truth! I’m incredibly honored to be an entrepreneur but it takes a lot of work. I have a pinboard above my desk full of of post-it notes with affirmations and inspirational quotes. On those tough days, I read through those quotes and remind myself why I chose this career. This is such a great way to center yourself and keep you grounded throughout the hustle and bustle.
I grew up in the Atlanta area and truly have a passion for serving my community. Whether that is Charcuterie Boards, Real Estate, or volunteer work, I am honored that I get to be a small part of serving others and bettering our community!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
As I have previously shared, I have a passion for serving my local community in as many ways as possible. This includes returning the favor and supporting small businesses whenever I’m able! Here are a few wonderful spots that will highlight not only Atlanta, but areas on the Southside that I also consider “home”. I am a Fayette County native and currently reside on the Southside of Atlanta. If I had a full week with an out-of-town friend, I would love to spend a day in each city really soaking up the uniqueness of each area and enjoying our time together.
Atlanta
I would start the day with a wonderful visit to our amazing Georgia Aquarium. I have a special place in my heart for the Georgia Aquarium as this is where my husband proposed. After working up an appetite, I would head on over to Mary Mac’s Tea Room to indulge in some Southern comfort food! To wrap up the day, enjoying a show at the Fox Theatre would be a dream!
Serenbe
Who doesn’t love a good Farmer’s market?! Well Serenbe has one for the books! It’s also a great way to get plugged into the community and meet many of residents! I would grab coffee and a snack in The Blue Eyed Daisy and then do some shopping within Serenbe. Hamlin, Creek Retreat, Forage & Flower, are just a few of my favorites! Ending the day on The Hill’s outdoor patios, sipping on one of their wonderful drinks, would be such an amazing way to end the day!
Newnan
I love spending time outdoor and a fall morning hike at the Chattahoochee Bend State Park would be perfect! After a morning spent outdoors, it would be so fun to check out the square! Meat & Greet, Leaf & Bean, Ace Beer Growlers, Whit’s are just a few of the many food & beverage options downtown! It’s such a fun area to explore and enjoy your company!
Senoia
If you’ve never been to downtown Senoia, you need it! This quiet little town in straight out of a Hallmark movie! While the locals don’t typically jump on board, most visitors love “The Walking Dead” tours in downtown Senoia! Bistro Hilary is a great place to stop for a meal, but there are plenty of options to choose from! The Senoia Coffee Company has THE best vanilla latte with oat milk and the cutest little bookshop across the street provides all the cozy vibes.
Peachtree City
Everyone thinks of golf carts when you think of Peachtree City….. and you wouldn’t be wrong! I grew up in this little town, although things looked a little different in the early 90’s. If you happen to be in town on a Wednesday or Saturday, the Farmers Market is must visit spot! The perfect evening for me would include dinner at Grinds & Wines and then drinks at Line Creek Brewing. You can get to all of these by golf cart too!!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
They say it takes a village to raise a child… but the same is true for a growing company! I started Wannabe Charcuterie and my Real Estate career within a 3 month time frame. My husband, Trey Stalnaker, has truly encouraged me every step of the way! He has supported and encouraged me to better, not only the businesses I am growing, but also myself. His background in business has been an integral part of our business planning discussions as well!
My parents, Cathy & Al Gailey, have done everything they could to spread the word of my business and I can’t thank them enough for that! Their local community in Serenbe has been an essential support system when starting this business!
Hamlin in Serenbe, Leyland Blue in Trilith, and the Main Street Market in Hogansville are all amazing shops that have supported Wannabe Charcuterie every step of the way! They have hosted classes, events, pop-up shops, etc. throughout the years! Through our businesses, I have become friends with these amazing owners and their support means the world to me!
Simultaneously growing two businesses is no easy feat but having such an amazing support system has been such a blessing!
