We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittany, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Well ..I wanted to make other women who struggled with self esteem issues feel even more beautiful. Doing makeup has always been my passion and I knew I wanted to turn it into my business but also help a person that might struggle with their self esteem or even teach them how to apply makeup. So a thought process came very easy because I already had the foundation.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Well I am a self taught Makeup artist from Brooklyn NY.I think what sets me apart from others is the way makeup saved me !! I experienced a traumatic loss some years ago and I was was really depressed and confused. When my son died I felt a piece of me went with him. I spent my days in the house and didn’t want to leave to do anything. I started watching makeup on YouTube and grew a liking to it. When I started to cry because I missed my son , I would watch makeup and eventually I started practicing on myself. I grew self confidence and love during those times. I am most proud that I didn’t allow the devil to win or take over my life with depression. I turned my hurt and pain into motivation and it build a passion and a talent. With practice and support from love ones I decided to step out on faith and turn my talent into a profession. It was easy because I loved doing it !! But it wasn’t easy getting started because of self doubt and wanting to be perfect. I learned that I can do anything I put my mind to. Any and everything is possible with God leading the way. I want people to know that it’s okay to fall a few times but you betta get up with your hurt and bruises and allow them to heal so you can walk proudly with your head held high. Give it to God!! I put love into what I do. I also work in the mental health field and I find ways to mix the two. Brittani beauti vault was created with love patience and even mistakes

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to the city , do some site seating and then a bomb sea food restaurant. I really enjoy being home so I don’t know much spots but I would make our week eventful and fun.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have a few people and groups I would love to show love to and shoutout.
