We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Farmer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittany, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
While transitioning from military service I began experimenting with candle making as a creative outlet. I loved candles but could not always burn them due to my son’s allergies. Then came the pandemic and I was home more which gave me the opportunity to fully explore clean burning, carcinogen free candles. I spent countless days sourcing clean materials and testing candles through friends and family. I made it my mission to make an allergy friendly candle that was just as fragrant as the big box chain stores.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am most proud when clients tell me that they have not been able to burn candles for years due to allergies but can now burn again thanks to my allergy friendly formula. Getting to this point was not an easy task and took a lot of researching, testing and burning that was personally funded. There were times I wanted to give up but every time someone testified about being able to enjoy candles again I was reminded my mission was not in vain. My upbringing, military life and now candle business and brand is built on perseverance and a constant reminder to keep shining no matter how small the flame. That small flame could be a big light to someone else in need.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First we would stop by the Clay Plaza at the historic square in McDonough Ga and visit Three Chics at Home, Three Chicks Boutique, Mom’s Living Room, MnM Beauty 7 and Palombo Photography. Next, we would stop by Georgian Gallery and look at beautiful art from local artist. After working up an apetitite we’d visit the Neighborhood Lot for food drinks and family friendly games. Lastly, there’s always room for desert so we’d stop by Scoops for some ice cream before heading over to Axe Country for some friendly competitive ax throwing.

Day 2: We would head to Atlanta for the Georgia Aquarium, Coca Cola Museum, and the National Center for Civil and Human rights.

Day 3: We would head over to Panola Mountain Park for some fresh air and picturesque natural trail hiking.
