We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittani & Stephen Richardson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brittani & Stephen, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind our success and the success of our business is CUSTOMER SERVICE. In growing up, we were always taught to treat others the way that we would want to be treated. We have always strived to go above and beyond to accommodate our customers and make sure that they have an experience that makes them remember us in a good way to want to come back again! We have laughed, cried and simply became part of the community with open arms from so many around us. The artists next door to us as well as the staff and students of the local schools and residents around, have become not only friends, but family, ALL in how we have treated each other and made people feel welcomed!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
A little about where we came from.
Brittani-I came from Winder, Ga where I graduated from Winder-Barrow High School. My first job was at Dairy Queen in Buford, GA that was then owned by the Gillespie family where I worked as a Shift Leader for almost 3 years and then went on to work for almost 13 years in the medical field and loved being able to connect to families and take care of others. From there I apprenticed at 2 salons for cosmetology but soon realized my passion and love was still in health and wellness. That’s when I found the love of our loaded teas and shakes from a few friends of ours, Cory and DeAnna, and then knew that I wanted to do be able to serve others as well with things for their nutrition and well-being and take care of others still, but in a different way. From the different settings of business it brought me to learn and appreciate what owning a business and running a business was like and the structure and skills it takes to have it.
Stephen-I came from Grayson, GA where I followed in my father’s footsteps in being with sales of parts for tractor trailers for nearly 15 years. From the experiences of being in sales and having the customer service skills of doing whatever I could for my customers to get the parts I needed and to be taught in inventory, I was able to bring with me those skills to incorporate that into the business that we both have now grown. Being that I have the passion like Brittani, to take care of others it just felt right for us to embark on this journey in taking care of and being able to help others, especially on health journeys.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well we all know they would start out with a refreshing loaded tea from us (smiling) before we go out to one of our favorite places for a Saturday night, the dirt track during race season or going to the lake at Lake Lanier. Something fun to do could be axe throwing at Twisted Axes in Buford, GA. Local shopping at the mall or the small boutiques in town. Some of the best food around would have to come from Fish Tales & Pig Tales and for pizza would have to be from Peyton’s Pie Kitchen.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Wow! Where do we begin! We have been so blessed with support in so many ways by so many and the guidance from others. Our friends, (we have so many we could name and think of), have been absolutely amazing in supporting us through this dream. They have spread the word, built us up and been there for the ups and downs that any business goes through. We have had the mentorship of building a business by so many. Trey, Matt, Cory, Racheal and Turkey have all been just a few we have learned so much from in what it is to build a business and to make a name for ourselves to grow. We thank you to all of our local schools who have supported our business as well. We are grateful for their continued support. Our families have been a big support as well. Some of our biggest fans. Special shoutout to Nick, Natalie, Kelsie and Cody for all their help during our buildout and being there every step of the way! Last but not least, God. Without him, nothing is possible. Through faith, blood, sweat, frustration, tears and smiles we have made our business withstand the trials of opening during a pandemic and then building during that time.
