We had the good fortune of connecting with Brianna and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brianna, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Once I realized I had a gift and an eye for photography, I knew I could not let time pass me by without using what God had given to me.

Living in Okinawa, Japan and seeing all of its beauty made me believe it was possible and much needed to share my talents with the world. I began teaching myself how to operate a camera and took photos of family and friends. I honestly jumped into my business head first [Lol], without much knowledge of the industry. The willpower and drive inside of me made that possible to do. I knew my passion for creativity and art was going to push me along the way, and it has.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a gifted Black woman in an industry amongst many gifted Black men. I want to show the world that the girls are out here too, doing our thing and leaving our mark in the most sharpest, precise, and sexiest way. Bring me the real you, raw you. That’s the art we’re putting on display.

My Art is about displaying sensuality, deep connections, raw emotions, and high power. What sets my artwork a part, is I aim to tell a story. I aim to transform your feelings and mood. I capture women in the most liberating way. It is beauty in seeing my models free spirit displayed on camera. I also don’t always high retouch my portraits. Being able to capture sharp photos without editing in photoshop is something I am proud of.

Everything I know, I’ve self taught or learned through YouTube. It hasn’t been easy, however it is rewarding to know I am capable of learning all things.
I have learned I have something very special about me and to not let fear stand in my way. I know the world needs my art. I know this is what I was designed to do. Creating is who I am. It makes me happy to put my ideas out into the world. One day, Chara Gallery Art Museum will display all of my artwork, making it possible for you to feel the power of my portraits all in one place.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shout out is dedicated to Okinawa, Japan for sharing all of its beauty with me, my daughter for being my everyday muse since the beginning, Demiah and Ziggy for critiquing my portraits before I shared them with the world, and lastly Maria Kakinohana, a Japanese photographer who showed me I had a natural eye for beauty and color. She is truly the reason I picked up my camera and believed in me.
