Meet Brianna Herrington | MultiMedia Marketing Educator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Brianna Herrington and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brianna, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
In the early stages I just wanted another stream of income. I’m a single parent and I’m in school and I felt like there was a timer for when I needed to be stable enough to give my kid everything I never had. I started out with a fast fashion e-commerce business that was supposed to jump start my finances. It just didn’t work out. I realized that I really wasn’t passionate about the business or the way I was going about it so I switched gears. I put what I knew into action for me and launched my marketing business. I felt like there were so many people in the industry with no experience and no real desire to help or teach anyone. I realized I could change that. I had years of knowledge that no one else could match and I wanted to share that.

What should our readers know about your business?
I launched Multimedia Mastermind Marketing because I was tired of working under other people. I knew just as much as they did and I honestly felt like some of their practices were unethical. I wondered if there was a way to launch courses and get sales without stringing customers along. I don’t market myself as a marketing agency but as a marketing education agency who provides full service marketing when necessary. I want to empower entrepreneurs and small business owners with the knowledge it’s taken me almost a decade to gain.
I’ve gotten to where I am (which is very early in the game) by being honest! I tell people exactly what I offer, why I offer it and what I can do for them.
I’m aware of my value as a business professional but I also know what it’s like to be a struggling business owner just starting out. I don’t want my clients to go bankrupt on my services or to constantly be stressed about their vision. I want them to know that I’m invested in their dreams and I want to work to make them a reality.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Ok so first Morelli’s because I’ve never had better ice cream! I love Piedmont Park because it’s so big and you can do everything from frisbee to roller skating! We’d probably enjoy Hugo’s Oyster Bar which is a ways away from the city but listen if you like fresh oysters going isn’t up for debate! I’d want to spend a few nights at Metro Fun Center because it’s nostalgic, and there’s so much to do that you can literally be there all night doing different things! As far as exciting sights and people it would have to be either the vibes in Midtown or Little 5 Points. I’m going to say Little 5 is one of my favorite places ever!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Soooooo many people! Honestly though the person who referred me! My grandmother and first employer, Anita Gates. She’s the reason I got started in online brand management and what she’s doing for African American people in healthcare is inspiring. I come from a family of strong women and if I could I’d write a book about each of them. They’ve all set an amazing example of the kind of woman I aspire to be.
