Meet Brianna Allen: Holistic Consultant & Owner of Zen’Ergy Holistics

We had the good fortune of connecting with Brianna Allen and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brianna, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
It started with a conversation that I overheard my mom having about “chakras.” That’s when I began researching more into chakras, crystals, meditation, spirituality, and healthy dieting. I call this my “spiritual awakening”; I was fifteen when this started. Going to Crystal Blue and Junk Man’s Daughter in Little Five Points was another doorway of inspiration for my business. Eventually, my aspirations of becoming an anesthesiologist turned into becoming a holistic health practitioner. I started Zen’Ergy in November of 2019 when I was a senior in high school, not knowing what I wanted to offer. I wanted to provide holistic knowledge, tools, and services to the younger people of my generation to be pass on to their families. This knowledge is wealth and health that we should share to unite in mind, body, and spirit.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Back in November of 2019, what pushed me to start my business was a bee. One day I was walking my dog, and there was a bee. Instead of getting scared like usual, I stood there calmly while the bee landed on my shoulder. When I got back inside, I looked up the symbolism of bees, and I learned that it represents prosperity and motivation to take on a new venture. So, on that day, I went to my mom’s office and began the process of getting my business started.
Now, almost two years later, Zen’Ergy is a fully sustainable, black woman-owned business. I’m also a full-time student studying in Ayurveda. There have been times of doubt, anxiety, and fear, but I don’t let judgment cloud my life experience anymore. My advice to anyone, not just business owners, is to look at life for its objective qualities rather than your own subjective opinion and get to know what this means for YOU. Don’t let the world make you; you create and OWN the reality that allows you to permeate love to others while expressing your higher Self. No matter what doubts or insecurities about my business come up, I keep the intention of love in mind, and I know that everything is going the way that it should. This power is what Zen’Ergy intends to remind people of; everyone has the power to guide their present for the benefit of their/our futures.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Five points should definitely be on the list more than once. On the first day, go out to eat at GoVinda’s Cafe. The food and service there are beautiful (and vegan). While you’re in five points, you might as well swing by Crystal Blue, Wax’n’facts, and Junk Man’s Daughter (my staple stops in L5P). If it’s sunny out, try going to Piedmont or Grant Park to catch up and enjoy the rest of the day. My best friend and I are nerds, so we’d probably stay at the house a lot and play games, learn new crochet patterns, binge shows, read and have cook-offs. On the third day, go to Jeju Sauna to spend the night (the charcoal sauna is one of my favorites). On the last day, eat breakfast or brunch at Flying Biscuit Cafe, do some exploring, get some doughnuts from Sublime, eat late lunch at Tin Lizzys, and cook a farewell dinner for the last night. *Key Point: Make everything humorous. The trip will be 1000x better!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
In 2020, I gained so many examples of black woman entrepreneurs in my life. I get to see all the success and struggles up close, which gives me guidance for my business. First, MY MOM! Her business is hugely successful, and I know every step she took to get to where she’s at. She’s also my mentor, therapist, life coach, and personal motivational speaker as an entrepreneur. The other inspirational women that came into my life were:
Mrs. Stephanie Mack of SoCalidad
Ms. Lydia Pierre of Pierre Branding Group
Ms. Olympia Robinson of Crown Skin Girl
Mrs. Stephanie Headen of Over the Road Therapy
I have an army of women behind me that I’m highly grateful for; they’ve all been supporting me since the beginning.
