We had the good fortune of connecting with Briana Way and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Briana, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Long story short, I am a Registered Nurse and the year 2020 came and took everything by storm and it definitely redirected my path in so many ways. I needed an escape from the medical field and all things healthcare. Skincare and Bodycare have always been my passion so when I decided to start my business it became a healthy outlet for me to express myself and do something truly enjoyable that I loved! I prayed so hard for wisdom and guidance when beginning because I wanted to be a vessel of healing in the community during a time where everything seemed bleak. I am so grateful to where the business has taken me so far and where it will continue to take me in the future.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
So by night I am a Registered Nurse. I work on the Surgical Unit. If I am honest this path was chosen for me. It’s a safe career in many eyes providing job security. I am honored to be on the front lines helping those in need and being a pillar of growth and health in my community. Obviously Covid came and shift my plans a little. It’s been tough struggling with burnout and feeling unappreciated however knowing that I have a personal business outside of my career helps me realize I am more than just a nurse. I want the world to know that we are more than just our titles! We are all human and this life is fleeting! Always do what brings you joy and what makes you happy! Fill your cup so that you will be able to pour into others!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I living in the DC area! There is sooo much to do. However first things first we definitely will have to go to kitchen Cray which is a delicious brunch spot that will knock your socks off! The food is bomb! The music and ambiance is even better! And we all love bottomless mimosas!!! Next we can definitely hit up the museums in DC such as the African American Museum, etc. For dinner I have been loving taking my friends to this restaurant called Palette 22 which offers bottomless brunch & dinner. I love options so the fact that you can literally taste the entire menu is right up my alley!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The CEO of my business as well as my life will always be Jehovah God! Without him I am nothing at all. God has truly given me the courage to break out of my shell and stand in confidence on this platform and be unapologetically myself. I also received unwavering support from my friends who have supported me and encouraged me since day 1!
