Meet Briana Ellington | Entrepreneur & aspiring businesswoman

We had the good fortune of connecting with Briana Ellington and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Briana, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I am from Bloomfield, CT, a small suburb in already small state.. I feel like my background and up bringing impacted who I am today by preparing me for life’s tough lessons. It also taught me not everything is easy or will be given to you. It has taught me to work hard for what you want and never let anything or anyone stand in your way. Sometimes being from a small state can feel like you’re never going make it in this big world but, I truly believe with hard work and dedication anything is possible.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Aside from starting my business, I am a Social media associate at an oil company. I wear many hats there but I essentially take care of responding to social media reviews and recommendations. I love what I do and the company I work for. We are like family. I am most excited about learning new life skills and applying them to better myself and my professional life. I am proud of myself for adapting well to change and making things “my own”. I got where I am today by working hard and having a strong work ethic. It was not easy but I kept going and achieved everything I set out to do. I’ve learned once you figure out where you want to go in life you should set goals and complete them on your own time. Don’t let anything make you feel like you need to rush. Take your time and do things right! I want people to know that I am a work in progress and I am still learning as I go but I will make it! In due time, everything will fall into place. Never give up!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would start with going to brunch at this restaurant in Hartford called “The Place 2 b” for the great food/drinks and cute aesthetic, I would then go to the outlet mall at Foxwoods resort & Casino where we can shop and enjoy a nice pool party and lip lining, I would then end the week by booking a nice spa day for us to get facials, manicures and pedicures.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family; my mom, grandma, aunt and Uncle. I was raised by strong women/men and without their advice, wisdom and guidance, I wouldn’t be here today.
