We had the good fortune of connecting with Briana Borrelli and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Briana, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
My work life balance has changed drastically. I’m currently active duty military and running my business so I knew when starting my business I wouldn’t have no free time. I am so passionate about my business so having no free time to do things and cutting out time to have fun doesn’t bother me too much. I want my business to expand so these are the sacrifices I have to make to get there.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Being able to teach others how to properly lash is what I’m most proud of. I’ve taught over 10 females on how to lash and most of them are running successful businesses today. They still text me there lash work and how there lash journey is going. It makes me so happy to know they work hard and put there all into lashing like I do. Running a business isn’t easy and it comes with a lot of challenges. I always remind myself that not everyone is perfect, we have good and bad days. I work 7 days a week with my business and even when I do take a break I’m still working. Once you love what you do, it starts not to feel like a job. When I’m taking a break from lashing I start to miss it or when I’m going through a rough patch all I want to do is lash to get my mind off of it. Being a lash artist has truly became my peace and outlet. I treat all my clients like there my friends. I always want to assure them that it’s a safe place coming into my business. They can tell me there business and it’s safe with me. A lot of them say there experience is every peaceful so they fall asleep which makes me happy as well because everyone needs a peaceful place to go too and I’m happy I can provide that to my clients.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my bestfriend was visiting the area I would take them too spin art. It was so much fun making different art pieces and getting messy. Theres a restaurant on the west side called the Vault which was beautiful and the food was top tier. My bestfriend would love it and want to take a bunch of pictures as well. Another place I would bring them too is Crafted Creations on peach tree. It’s definitely a vibe and a fun experience making candles while listening to music, eating and drinking wine. The atmosphere is very welcoming. Lastly for some fun I would take my bestfriend to Cloverland Ranch. They have horseback riding and ATV riding which is very fun. It’s a free feeling riding in the mud and the woods. It’s a great way to get out of the city and let loose.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shoutout my support system. They have been super supportive in my business journey and have been helping me stay focus. I used to practice on them for hours and they still let me practice on them today. My support system hands out my business cards and posts all my work as well. I can’t thank them enough for there support. A business truly does take a team and I’m super grateful for mine.
