We had the good fortune of connecting with Brian Winters “71GangBeez” and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brian, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I’m pursuing this career cause I wanted to do something I always loved but never got to branch out with. Making Hip/Hop and Rap music. Music is something I’ve always been around in my early stages of life. Whether that be with my father blasting old school music, hanging around my older cousins when they would record on a boom box, and even my peers in school who shared the same musical passion I did.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Making music is an expression of one’s self. I try to make music with and open mind to tap in with the listeners. From hard trap beats to boom bap, soft melodic beats you name it I can create a sound on any beat. That’s what sets me apart from other artists. I have a mixtape dropping “Mad Max: 134” that will showcase all of my versatility. I’m super excited about that and so are others. I literally have people asking me about it everyday. Making music and branding it the right way isn’t easy at all. People don’t know how much time it actually takes for music to be done the right way. That’s why you have to be 10 steps ahead pursing this career. I just want the world to be able to come together through my music.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would probably take them downtown. Birmingham has developed over the years with new attractions. Hwy 280 has a plethora of options as well to find fun things to do.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First off shoutout to everyone who has supported me in any type of way. Whether they streamed one song, shared anything or made any show.
Dorian Kelly of SŌL SVVR Studios was the first person I worked with getting my music career started. I always make sure I shout him out.
Another artist from Bessemer, Alabama. Plane Mane helped me learn how to code & register my music so I could make actual money from doing something I love. So big shout out to him for that.
And last but not least shout out to my current music engineer Trae “T-Way” Holloway of T-Way/HolloSights Media Group. He was the first person who really believed in my music and wanted to see me go further in this music scene. Without him I honestly don’t think I would have made it this far. So big salute to him.
